This apartment has 1 main bedroom with a queen and single bed, aircon. The studio type room has 2 beds as well. It's ideal for long term stays on Savaii Island. It has a hot water shower, fridge, coffee & tea making facilities, oven, washing machine and both front and back porch. A restaurant and bar is on site, a few steps away from the ocean and you get to use resorts kayaks for free.
Our location is unique and waterfront where turtles are wild and free. 100 year old dramatic lava flow formations surrounds our property. The area our property is on was reclaimed by the lava flow of 1905. Cold freshwater springs pop up between the lava tubes along the lava field. Plants have found their way between the lava cracks and have mostly covered the lava and provide shade and coolness around the property.
You'll be living in a village community and a site seeing or visit with the locals can be arranged by request with one of our staff accompaning you on the visit. Experience our life and way of living by participating in village activities eg sports volleyball, rugby or outdoor cooking like hot cocoa making or basket weaving etc. This will come free of charge and if you wish to donate something for the family you visit it is completely up to you but it is not expected. There's plenty to do and experience so become a local while you're with us. There's a pizza place 5 minutes drive from us and other great places to indulge in our local samoan cuisines.
  • Beautiful location, adorable staff and lovely place to relax and enjoy some holidays

  • Very friendly staff!

  • The setting was amazing, right on the lagoon with the sound of the waves crashing on the reef in the distance - far better than we imagined! We were lucky enough to get one of the seaside bungalows with a magic view over the water. We could watch the sunrise from bed and saw turtles swimming close by every day. The accommodation was simple but comfortable. The food was great. We didn't realise breakfast was included. This was tasty and plentiful and the restaurant food was superb. Oka (raw fish in coconut cream) was definitely our favourite. So spoilt to eat tuna every day!! The staff were really friendly and helpful and the local bus from the ferry was easy, fun and ridiculously cheap. It dropped us right at the end of the drive. Savai'i was a magical place to visit. We will definitely return.

  • Sesilia's (a.k.a. Bayside Bungalows) is in a quiet location on the lava fields in NE Savai'i. A little tricky to find, you'll prob need a rental car to get there & then to be able to access other places inc. Sale'aula. Good food, beautiful lagoon to swim or paddle, wonderful friendly staff but a bit simple in other ways eg no wifi available (although this could've been an area-wide problem) & no hot water.

    Greg2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Bay View was the perfect location for a week away from it all. Fale #5 was in an ideal spot right on the edge of the lagoon, perfect for turtle spotting. Simple and comfortable accommodation, with a lovely big attached fale. Beautiful views, quiet location, friendly pigs and chickens, and absolutely wonderful staff that looked after us. The breakfasts were a feast! Thank you so much for a great week and we look forward to staying with you again. Karen, Donna & Julie xxx

  • Sesilia was great - quick communication via airbnb, useful directions on how to catch the local bus from the ferry, information about car rental options and, last, but not least, helping resolve an issue with a taxi driver after I left the resort. Unfortunately, Sesilia is not located on Savaii and staff at the resort were not nearly as helpful. Example: it took half a day to replace batteries in aircon remote. And don’t ask them to arrange a tour of the island. I asked three days about options for island tour and was told that I would need to talk to Lena. In the mornings I was told that she will be there in the afternoon. Then I was told she would be there in the evening. Then I was told that she is still not there. For three days in the row. The night before my departure, I was told that they will pick me up at 7am. Nobody was there at 7am and instead it was 9am now and still no info on price/itinerary. Finally they told me 300 tala, quite a high price considering that a day-long car rental was quoted at 130 but I could not get one now at the last moment. They did recommend another taxi driver they often work with, who also does tours and charges 250 tala. At this point I was adamant I didn’t want just a driver, but a tour guide and which stops I wanted to visit - they said it would be ok and he has done many tours for them. Needless to say, there was no tour guiding, except for telling names of villages as we drove through them. And this “tour guide” didn’t even know how to get to the blowholes or the waterfalls - two out of five main things on the island! Luckily, I had the offline (Hidden by Airbnb) maps on my phone. We never stopped for lunch and the kicker came at the end when he proclaimed that the 250 tala price is just for the drive around the island without stops (why would anyone do that for half a day?) and he wanted an extra 100 tala. Luckily, the call to Sesilia fixed that. The resort itself was underwhelming. After reading the rave reviews, I decided to stay there for three nights instead of one. Unfortunately, their beach is one of the worst beaches I have ever been too - some sand over lava rocks and lots of rocks in the water making it almost impossible to swim without scraping on things. You can snorkel around, but the visibility is very poor and there is nothing to see anyways. On the bright side I was upgraded to a large bungalow with air con and ensuite bathroom. The food at the restaurant was pretty good, priced fairly, and included free delicious huge breakfasts. While listing advertises WiFi, Lavaspot service was only available for purchase at 15 tala an hour and was pretty slow.

  • WARNING: THE PHOTOS DO NO JUSTICE TO HOW ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL THIS RESORT AND IT'S HOSTS ARE!!! We went there expecting clean and cozy accommodation. What we got was nothing less than five star hospitality. Well exceeded our expectations and would recommend to ANYONE looking for action / peace and quiet or just time out. We were a party of 5 - A 79yrold, a couple and 2 teenagers. The resort catered to all our needs at once. We were so fortunate to have booked This because we were staying already in their Vailoa apartments Apia... so so blessed by this experience... Complete value for money, recommend eyes closed. Thank you so much Sesilia and Leo, looking forward to our next visit xxoxox

  • This property has about 8 cabins with large fales attached. It is run by locals who went out of their way to make us feel so welcomed. They are a wealth of knowledge. The cabin was large and airy. Aircon an added bonus. We loved the place.

Talofa! Welcome to the luscious vibrant village of Falefa. Our Ensuite rooms are only 5 mins walk to Falefa Waterfall. Chillax at the half-way point between Apia & the famous Lalomanu beaches - join us for a swim across the roda where the waterfall meets the beach.
"You lie on a mat in a cool Samoan hut and look out on the white sand under the high palms and a gentle sea, the black line of reef a mile out with moonlight over everything. And then amongst it all are the loveliest people in the world, moving and dancing like gods and goddesses. It is sheer beauty, so pure it is difficult to breathe it in." - Robert Louis Stevenson
To enjoy and get to know the Real Samoa away from the hustle and bustle of town center Apia, you need to stretch out a little to the vibrant villages to get to the heart and soul of us Samoans. If getting amongst the locals whether it's fishing, canoeing (traditional canoes) in front of the waterfall (Falefa falls) and cooking your own food caught across the road is your idea of a holiday in Samoa? well you've clicked on the right Airbnb stay - a little bit history, just Wikipedia Falefa.
  • I have travelled all around the world & never enjoyed staying anywhere as much as I have at Senima's! I was hoping to meet genuine people & experience life in Samoa but I experienced so much more than that. I have never met more caring and beautiful people than Senima and her Family, I adore her Niece who was kind enough to spend the afternoon at Piula Cave pool with me as I was traveling solo. The cave pools are 5 mins away and so are the beautiful Falefa falls. I have never been so relaxed and at peace in my life relaxing in my spacious bedroom with own ensuite and sipping a fresh coconut while wandering around the beautiful plantation out the back. I can not wait to come back to Samoa & see you all again, I will definitely stay longer next time!

    Aimee2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Senima's place in Falefa! She made us feel at home immediately, feed us extremely well with lush breakfasts and homegrown fruit from her garden, and was an excellent tour guide at the same time. The facilities are beautiful, very well looked after and located in a very nice, lush area. Senima is very knowledgeable when it comes to the Samoan culture and we felt like we really got to experience the country, customs and people of Samoa. Thank you so much for having us, we loved staying with you and meeting your friends and family!

    Olivia2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Senima is the nicest host ! She will advise you on what to see and will take care that you lack nothing. The breakfast are really good and hearty. The house is surounded by a really nice garden and the village is lovely. You will be near a lot of nices places to have a swim. I will definitively recommend it !

    Lucie2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Lara2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being pampered for a couple of days. Senima was the perfect host. Staying here allowed us to visit the local tourist spots without feeling rushed. Great location for Piula cave pool and Falefa falls.

    Lynette2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • My second time staying with Senima and I can't wait to come back again next time I'm in Samoa. Senima is the perfect host, a 'super host!' who goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome and at home in her beautiful place. Senima is always more than happy to offer any advice or travel tips about the beautiful Samoa and places close by like Falefa Falls, Sauniatu Falls & Piula Cave Pool. I am so grateful for the help and rearranging of my plans prior to staying with you when I wasn't well. It is so very much appreciated! I can't wait to come back to this beautiful place, drink fresh niu, relax in the beautiful yard and have a comfy bed to sleep in.

    Aimee2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Senima did a great job in taking care of us, she welcomed us like we were already family. She took an extra step to get us an anniversary cake and celebrate with us our 25th wedding anniversary, thank you Senima. The garden around the home made it look so beautiful. The place was very clean and well taken care of. We would recommend Senimas place and would stay there again on our next adventure to Samoa.

    Divina2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Well this truly was the best decision I made. Several travellers I had met had booked themselves into hotels right beside the airport and there was nothing for them to do. Staying with Senima's bnb was a true organic Samoan experience. Senima and her husband met me at the airport on my arrival and their home is only 40mins drive from Apia. They were both so accommodating and kind and I would recommend staying with them if you're looking for something 'off the beaten track'. I really hope to go back one day!

  • If I could rate this place 10 stars I would... The hospitality of Fiauu and his family is amazing. They got wind we were on out honeymoon and added a couple extra touches to make our stay all the more special. I cannot recommend this place enough.. We only stayed one night but wished it could've been longer

    Michael2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you like private beaches with very few people then this is the place for you. The beach and scenery are spectacular. The remote location lends to a rustic environment. If you arrange for them to pick you up at the airport hold them to it. We were left hanging with a no show ride and had to arrange our own transportation by getting a cab for a long ride and were over charged by the cabbie. They did promise to refund the over charge but that never happened. Aside from that. This is a fantastic place I would stay there again.

    Andrew2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Matareva Beach was stunning! We stayed in our own falle right on the beach. They put out flowers on the bed for our arrival, the food they provided was always great, and they had a great bar too. The beach itself was one of our favorites in all of Samoa. It was great for swimming and was quiet. We don’t have kids but it seemed like very family friendly swimming. Everyone was extremely kind and the local kids even did a show with fire dancing! Just lovely, it was our favorite place we stayed in Samoa!

    Courtney2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Head a great time at an amazingly beautiful beach location. If you’re alright with leaving the modcons away for a certain time, you can definitely find your peace and quiet here.

    Timm2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights and really wished we had stayed longer. The beach is incredible and the fales are right on the beach. We had two young kids and all of us had a ball.

    Esther2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A backpacker's paradise! My husband and I stayed for two nights with our four-month old and experienced incredible views of the sunset, slept in a cosy, traditional fale and ate wonderful local food (while our baby was busy being entertained by our lovely hosts). We would definitely stay here again, if we are lucky enough to get another vacation in Samoa!

    Alberte2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my favourite place to stay in Samoa. The beach was so beautiful and it was so peaceful sleeping in the fale on the beach. The pictures don’t do this place justice, it really is paradise. The hosts and staff are fantastic and make you feel like part of the family. The breakfast and dinner meals were delicious and always plenty of food. I will be back

    Joseph2018-03-22T00:00:00Z

This apartment is new with mountain view and hibiscus gardens surrounding. Cool breeze at the deck that soothes you on a hot day. Located 5 mins to city and 3 mins to the Faleata Sports Complex, roadside and easy access to transportation.
Very cool and private. A home away from home. Main bedroom has air-con and the second bedroom has a wall fan.
Samoan people are friendly, usually says hello and goodbye when you walk by along the road. Our neighbourhood is safe and secure.
  • The house was a great base for us in Apia. Had everything we needed and was lovely to set on the wee back deck in the evenings. Was a little tricky tracking down the key as we arrived later than expected. Thanks for the nice stay, we would visit again if in Apia.

  • My stay at Sesilia's was absolutely amazing! the place was much bigger than i expected and it was very neat and clean. the riverside view is indescribable and so were the beautiful gardens on the property. the location is great just a five minute drive to town. On one occasion i walked to town and it wasnt very far. the locals are very friendly and i even was invited for dinner by some. i will definitely be staying at sesilia's my next trip to samoa and have already started to recommend sesilia's to my family and friends. thanks sesilia and ano for such an amazing experience and i look forward to seeing you hopefully very soon!

    Hannah2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very good time there. Everybody was very helpful and nice.

    Norbert2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sesilia is a great host and her apartments are very solid. She was very responsive and quick to accommodate us at the last minute. She also did her best to keep the apartment up to par, even installing a brand new fridge when we arrived. The river behind the apartments is beautiful, but be careful because it is extremely slippery and can be dangerous to cross. My wife and I slipped and fell in the river and I lost my phone as a result. No one gave us any warning, so hopefully this is helpful for someone.

    Eric2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sesilia is accommodating, friendly, and helpful! Her staff keeps the apartment clean, and nice despite the tropical location. No bugs - a pleasant surprise! There is a 2-burner stove, which I hadn't seen from the pictures, and a pot & a pan.

    Ann-Marie2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my time at Sesilia's apartments. The location was great and easy to get around and find a taxi. Value for money was fantastic would stay here again

    Josh2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay, spacious apartment, hot shower and good working AC in bedroom. Great and fast communication with Sesilia & family. Pictures are accurate. Information map and amenities are a plus. Quiet area, private transportation or taxi's (cheap!) is necessary to get around. On Sundays almost everything is closed and people stay indoors so prepare food/drinks/trips in advance.

    Marlies2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sesilia's place was nice! The best part was the wonderful AC and our kind host, Janice. Also ran into a few friendly geckos that wouldn't leave but our neighbor managed to get them out. Unfortunately we never met Sesilia but maybe next time. Thank you for everything. Dawn

7 self contained 1 bedroom cottages, in a secured compound facing the Pacific Ocean. Situated 5 minutes from Apia and 45 minutes from the airport, the tranquil charming atmosphere of the Cottage's make them a unique stay in Samoa. Tropical gardens with spacious lawns invite a restful retreat for families or the lone traveler. Swing in a hammock, soak up the peaceful beauty of the environment, enjoy a swim or go snorkeling amongst spectacular marine life at the near by Palolo Marine Reserve.
We have a total of 7 self contained one bedroom cottages/bungalows in a secured compound facing the Pacific Ocean. Cottages are serviced daily with 24hour security.
In the evenings we have a 15minute "Sa" (curfew usually 6.15pm - 6.30pm) where we are not allowed to walk the street or swim; as this is the time where we have evening devotions and prayer in the village of Vaiala.
  • These cottages had everything we needed for our brief holiday. Though basic, they are value for money, close to the city and amenities, and everyone was friendly and helpful.

    Te Miringa2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay worth Moala and Rosa, we felt the cottages were good value for money, perfect for a longer stay as you have your own space and coming facilities. Walking distance to town and to the marine reserve which was really handy

    Sandro2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place has amazing value and offered a great central location to experience Samoa from! The ocean is a 20 second walk away, the heart of Apia was a mere 10 minute walk. Rosa and her family were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about local places to go. Would most definitely stay here again next time I visit

    Paul2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a really good night and the place is wonderfull, close to the sea side. The bungalow is clean en very confortable. I'll surely come back !!!

    Max2018-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent our first two nights at Viala Beach Cottages and enjoyed our stay. Good value for a self contained cottage with ceiling fans, power and hot shower. The cottage was clean and cosy. The setting was quiet and private - 5-10 minutes walk from Apia town., with buses and taxis passing regularly. The outlook to the ocean wasnt the tropical beach setting (concrete seawall over the road), however the snorkelling and sealife was cool and free kayaks were available. Apia was good to checkout for markets, shops etc for a day or two, or if you have a car -this is a great base to travel from. Moala was a great help to us, with advise, info and suggestions for our time in Samoa. A true example of the sincere friendly and kind Samoan people. Thank you for being part of our happy holiday experience.

    Alison2018-08-01T00:00:00Z

You’ll love my place because of the views, the people, the ambiance, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.
  • Lovely place in the village. View unique on a stunning beach. Nugg and all the family are very hospital and make your stay as nice as possible. Thanks again

    Guillaume2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Good value. Hard to get to unless you have a car. Ideal for surfing. Good food and worth it to check out the cave pool.

    Liam2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect! Breakfast is very good, house owner is very nice! The staffs are in good service

    Alex2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The location of these open beach fales is unbeatable. Right on Vaiula Beach, you wake up to the waves just beyond your door. The fale come with mattresses and mosquito nets, with tarps that you can roll down on each side. Nugg was a fantastic communicator who made sure we had enough mattresses and that the light was on so we could find our fale when we arrived quite late at night. Check in and check out was really flexible. Finding the resort can be difficult seeing as there isn't a specific address you can put into GPS. You need to look out for the 'Vaiula Beach Fale' sign and turn into that driveway. Drive down for 5-10 minutes until you get to the end of the road and then you are there. It might also be good to note that there is no longer a connecting road between Brenda's Beach Fales and Vaiula Fales, despite it looking as so on (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps. We tried and it has since been closed. Breakfast at the fales was basic - bread, butter, boiled eggs and bananas, but that was perfect for us. Lunch at the bar was delicious and affordable. We recommend bringing your own water as they do not sell water there. They do sell coconuts though. A lovely guy named Sonny lives just on the edge of the fales. You can hire stand-up paddle boards from him, and he also takes tours through a lava tube to a cave pool. We really enjoyed the tour and the water was so cold and refreshing! When we arrived at night we were a bit scared of the dogs running around (as most dogs in Samoa are not domesticated), but we found in the morning that the dogs were owned by the owners of the fales and were super cute and friendly.

  • Could not have asked for a better place to spend our two weeks in Upolu! Thank you for making us feel at home. It was one of those rare accidental vacations that we will cherish for life. For travelers looking to get away and just chill, look no further. Fales are literally on the beach, private snorkelling guide on premises, a hearty breakfast followed by a hugely generous dinner. Not to mention the family bar on the premises!

    Odonbayar2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely experience... this is basic fales in the most magnificent location. Great hospitality brilliant local food with the added bonus of a wonderful wee bar. Don't expect too much... this is the equivalent of camping.

This tiny house located 800m above sea level offers a compact, elegant space with a great view from the upper deck. Located near an art studio (Website hidden by Airbnb) opposite a Samoan fale (house) and art gallery. Sleeps three comfortably. Price for one guest only - breakfast not included. Cool, quiet location with a wild foods cafe at the gallery. Property 2 minutes walk from the Baha'i House of Worship with over 20 acres of serene grounds where guests can visit for walks and meditation.
The Ma'oma'o (Samoan honeyeater) is an endangered bird that is endemic to Samoa and sings near the Tiny House every day. It has a range of beautiful melodies and is featured at the beginning of an introduction to films produced at the Tiapapata Art Centre: (Website hidden by Airbnb)
Tiapapata is a quiet village with no traditional governance council. The Baha'i House of Worship is visible from the property and makes the area very special to visitors.
  • Steve and Wendy are truly exceptional hosts. The Tiny House is a perfect getaway and yet easily accessible if you have your own car. The house itself is cosy and quaint and has all necessary amenities. Steve and Wendy invited us over for dinner on one of the nights and were kind and gracious hosts. I would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing retreat combined with unmatched hospitality. Thank you and we will surely be back someday :)

    Aditi2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoy Airbnb's for the uniqueness you experience and Steven & Wendy's tiny art house set in the lush green jungle of Samoa certainly fit the bill. If you have you're own transportation, then you're relatively close to everything (as the island is not overly big) but you get the chance to retreat to this small art community in the jungle whenever you please to enjoy the serenity and amazing food cooked up at café located in the art center. The accommodation is clean and perfect for the solo traveller, business traveller (I ticked those boxes) or small family. Everything you need is in the tiny home to make for a comfortable and pleasant stay. As for Steven and Wendy, they are gracious hosts (Steven invited me to dine with his family the fist evening) and are great to have a yarn with over a tea or coffee. Cannot recommend this place enough and I certainly intend to return one day.

  • We stayed with Steven twice for a total of three nights. We had a great time! The tiny house and whole property are beautiful. It was great to have the art gallery and café right there. Steven, his wife Wendy, and all the employees are lovely and hospitable. Communication could not have been smoother. The tiny house was comfortable and had a sufficient kitchen. We recommend bringing some jugs of drinking water as the water coming out of the sink was sometimes clean and other times (after rain) less so. The bathroom is very basic– not the best, but ok. Although there was no WiFi (Steven explained that he had accidentally indicated otherwise on airbnb), he graciously offered us to borrow his internet connection as needed. We were also able to rent a car from Steven for a great price, which made our trip much more pleasant. We recommend asking if you’re interested! Overall, we would recommend this place to anyone.

  • This tiny house in the hills of Upolu was great! Steven and his whole family went above and beyond to help us and gave us amazing local knowledge of things to do and see all over Samoa. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be a bit off the main track and appreciate a bit of tranquility. Amazing vegetarian/vegan food as well

  • I stayed at Steven's home for one night. Firstly, I found it difficult to find the place as the address given didn't come up on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. We ended up calling the host and it was the owners wife that picked up. She was surprised to find we had arrived at 9:45. Mind you, Check in time was "anytime after 8am" so I didn't understand how she could be surprised by our arrival. Because of this, we had to wait at least half an hr while she had someone clean the place as it had not been cleaned. When we finally went in, the place was in reasonable condition. The floors had not been cleaned. The host did not greet us, but when she finally saw us, it was to tell us we needed to be out by 8am because there was someone else booked for the next morning (we were around but not inside the property until 11am and no one had shown up..hmmm). The bathroom sink water as well as the toilet water would sometimes turn yellow when turned on (I found this very disturbing). The shower water only runs cold. The blankets and sheets smelt very musty and mouldy as if they had been lying in a cold damp room for a while. Safe to say I did not get much sleep that night. On a positive note however, the house from the outside is very pretty, as well as the scenery and location of the property.

  • You can expect to be in a bright cheery tiny apartment in a beautiful setting with good food and art right next door.

  • A wonderful little self-contained home tucked up in the cool and quiet hills above Apia. We really enjoyed all the beautiful and unique touches around the home and slept so soundly in the cosy loft. Highly recommend this beautiful property. Big thanks to Steven, who was a very warm and hospitable host. Can't wait to visit again!

Live the Samoan way!!!! Traditional Samoan Garden Fale. Each Fale comes with floor mat, mattress, sheets, mosquito net. All our Fales have electricity and power points. Fales located in the garden overlooking the pool area. Great way to experience the Samoan way of living. Tropical breakfast included. Only 15 min walk from downtown Apia.
  • I really loved my stay here! And will return for sure if/when I return to Samoa. I stayed in one of the 4 Fale, rather than a room. It was the perfect way to live on an island in the south Pacific! the Fale is spacious, has it's own deck with 2 chairs and small table. and a view of the lush tropical garden and the pool. You can open or close any portion of the 'walls' for privacy at your choice. and it has a light and even electrical outlet. There is a lock box large enough for a normal size backpack or computer bag. Great breakfasts. The staff is the friendliest women I've ever encountered. Wifi (separate moderate payment) worked well in the reception area.

    Andrea2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • this place is The Place. I had the luxury to have a Fale for myself, far from the road, close from the pool. Just what I needed. the girls at the front desk are there to help you with any question regarding transports, things around! probably the second best place of the all trip over the 2 islands!

    Nicole2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in one of the fales and it was by far the best fale we’d stayed in on our trip around Samoa. This was our first trip to Samoa, and a great way to end at the Outrigger. The staff were incredible - so friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast was consistently great, and I loved the traditional Samoan pancakes - I miss them already. Guests have access to a kitchen which is useful for saving some money cooking for yourself. All facilities were really clean, and the pool was so refreshing for a dip after spending the day exploring Apia. The Outrigger is well placed for some great restaurants (we loved the smoothies at Krush and the pizza at Giodarnos), but to get anywhere around the city is only $5 (WST) and the staff are more than happy to call a cab for you. Overall we had an amazing time here, and can’t wait to return! Thanks guys! Your staff are a credit to you! :)

  • a good place

    Jerry2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • After staying in the south of the island I wanted to be close to Apia for my last days in Samoa. The backyard garden fales were the right choice to do so. I felt very secure and at home during my whole stay and there is nothing like a morning jump into the pool on a hot day when the sea is not reachable - as Apia doesn’t have these beautiful easy accessible beaches. The fale itself was very big and had all as described and needed. The friendly chats with the staff added upon my stay. The only thing you should take care of during your stay - like in all Samoa - is to bring and use a good repellent while being outside of your mosquito net. Otherwise just enjoy the place and the nice cafés and bars close by.

    Leon2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a nicer staff. At the Outrigger, you are taken care of! Such friendly hosts and staff, filling breakfast, fresh air and clean linens on the daily! Close to Apia, convenient shop and restaurants are within walking distance.

We call this cabin our 'bunker' as it is a small cabin right on the beach. The bunker is right next to our bar and restaurant. Please note this is a SHARED bathroom and shower arrangement. Sa''Moana Beach Bungalows is a 3.5 star beach hotel - not a beach fale budget accommodation. It is isolated and right on the Ocean in a beautiful spot. We are not near any other restaurants or bars and are not within walking distance so car or scooter hire is recommended or you will need to take taxis.
The cabin is basic and spacious for 2 people. located right on the beach the setting is amazing. is a simple open space with Queen bed, fridge and panoramic ocean views. As you are located in a hotel there are other guests here. Sunrises and sunsets are really magical at Sa'Moana and there are great spots for some amazing holiday or Insta photo's.
We are located at the end of the Salamumu Village beach road - 6 km from the main road in an isolated spot. There are no other shops or restaurants nearby so you need to pick up supplies before you get here if you don't have transport. Taxis are easy to arrange with reception but we recommend you plan ahead and rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. A Rav 4 or similar is perfect for the bumpy roads.

  • The beach cabin was perfect for our holiday to Samoa in June. I would recommend this location for anyone headed to the island for a break. The resort was located in a more remote location which provided for a quiet and relaxing week away. The resort is also well placed on the Island to drive around and check out the various attractions on the site. The resort staff were friendly and a lot of fun, and ensured that guests always had what they needed. Was a great location!

  • You want to learn how hospitality is done right. Stay here. Daniel was out of town when we were there. The couple that were taking care of the place were fantastic. We stayed for 6 nights in the Beach Cabin and loved it. The place is beautiful. If you are looking for some tranquillity this is the place to go. Food was fantastic and at a good price. The pool was lovely. And in the main building they have a workout space upstairs!!!!! Just a heads up those without vehicles. It's a 20min drive down a gravel road. So accecability can be tricky. We taxied in. Then rented their scooter. Eventually we rented a car for more freedom. That being said this place was definitely a hidden gem. Recommend them 100%

    Salamumu, A'ana, Samoa

Our property is not on Upolu Island but on Savaii Island which is the bigger island of Samoa. Our bungalow is studio type with an open fale. It's ideal for travellers looking for something unique to unwind at. It has a hot water shower, fridge, coffee & tea making facilities, oven, washing machine and both front and back porch. A restaurant and bar is on site, a few steps away from the ocean and you get to use resorts kayaks for free
  • Great place, worth the price especially if you have rental car.

    Steve2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with a lagoon which has turtles and fish. Great for kayaking and swimming. Staff are all very friendly and helpful

    Jill2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We loved seeing the turtles while kayaking and had heaps of fun. We actually thought the photos on here do not do the view justice, it's quite beautiful. The rooms are a little dated but that didn't worry us and is reflected in the price and most importantly bed was comfortable!!! We got great advice on the sites to see and everyone was really helpful. We loved our stay!

    Glenda2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't really know what to expect and after leaving NZ in the morning and travelling to Savaii, including a bus from the ferry, we were ready to collapse. The bus driver and locals knew the place and there's a big sign out front. It's a long bus trip but worth it for the experience. We had the front bungalow and the whole setup was great. The first night we slept outside and we loved our private fale style deck. The view is great. We took the kayaks over the lagoon and walked around the point and back - it's spectacular on the ocean side. The meals were better than expected and took us back to our backpacker days - order late afternoon and specify the time you'll come up to the dining hall. Breakfasts were great. The teenager found he could only get 3G from the dining hall, the bungalow was a bit too far from the road. Next time: - I'd stay longer - I'd have my own transport

    Sarah2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic few days at this charming little resort - loved swimming near the turtles and exploring the lava fields! The staff were really lovely and the food delicious- hope to return someday soon!

    Yiga2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect. Right on the water where turtles play and pop up to breathe which is quite exciting! There are a few kayaks available so you can paddle over to the spit of land and walk across to the ocean. The staff are wonderful and very friendly and the food is great too. The rooms are large with an outside fale attached so that you can sit out of the sun in the open air. There was a fia fia (party demo) on the Friday where the staff did several traditional dances and we were able to weave with palm fronds, and also partake of the cava ceremony. I highly recommend Bay View Resort - it's by no means luxury but it's reasonably priced and has everything you need.

    Jenny2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A place where you can experience a little bit of the samoan way to live. relax, listen to music, paddle with the kayak, go for a snorchel trip around the coral reefs or just enjoy the sun. Love the food, breakfast was my all day choice. Still cooking sup esi at home : )

    Jo2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice bungalow built on top of the lava fields witch is a bit different, this place is pretty remote needing a car or scooter to get around key restaurant onsite but pre order your food as they cook fresh to order. Breckfast is amazing lots of food. Beach frout with great veiws over largoon.

    Fagamalo, Gaga'emauga, Samoa

The Fale, inspired by traditional Samoan design, is a modern home with open kitchen/living space, 3 bedrooms plus loft. We are semi-off-grid, have solar power with battery and mains back-up, rainwater tanks and our own plantation.
The Fale was designed with traditional architectural influences of Samoa, hence the dome shaped roof with interior exposed beams and unique handiwork. The main living space features a modern kitchen with all amenities including breakfast bar and dishwasher. The master bedroom contains a queen bed facing an arch of floor to ceiling louvred windows, all fully meshed with mosquito screens. The ensuite contains a bath as well as shower. Downstairs are two single bedrooms with their own entrances and a shared bathroom with shower. The large loft space above the living area contains 3 single beds or can be used for a day hangout area. The stunning deck overlooks the gardens and plantation whilst the kitchen has an undercover porch with laundry and toilet adjoining.
The Samoan Highland Hideaway- Fale Samoa is located in the hills above Apia, about a 20 minute drive from the great places to eat and drink whilst you're here. There are waterfalls nearby, amazing beaches within 30-40 minutes, nature walks, art galleries, and easy access to the airport (40 min drive) and port if you plan on going to Savai'i (recommended). We are nicely isolated down a dirt road, so all you'll hear are the birds and geckos, no traffic or street noise at all. A real retreat location for some time out.
  • We absolutely loved Tim and Maria's Highland house, the authenticity was magic, the fresh fruit presented to us every day by John was a surprise and a delight. The fact that you arranged for Vic to pick us up was really thoughtful and extremely helpful. Heaps of space, and plenty of beds. We loved the location and the house.

    Jude2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tim & Maria's house was so beautiful. The fale roof was a particular highlight. Tim was easy to communicate with and always available to help us with anything we needed. The house is in a beautiful part of the mountains.

    Richard2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great welcome from Tim who took the time to meet us at the airport and then show us around the lovely comfortable fale. We had everything we needed to cook with local ingredients. It has a good central location to explore the island and friendly on site workers. We would definitely stay again.

  • What a place! We enjoyed every moment! Because we arrived in the night Maria was on the airport and picked us up. It is better because orientation on Upolo is not easy for beginners. Maybe other guests more clever than we. In the very charming house we find a big selection of fruits from the beautiful garden. Maria was very helpfull and we’re very sure that all people love her from the first meeting! We’ve got very good suggestions from Maria for our stay on the island. All people who worked on this place are very friendly. The only thing we don’t like there was to say goodbye when our time was over. If you’re going there you will see!

    Stefan2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful, quiet location. comfortable, clean and well equipped home, the kids loved sleeping in the loft. about ten mins from good supermarket but large fridge and plenty of cupboard space. good base for exploring Apia and the Western half of the island with several good snorkelling beaches within 30-60 min drives. you do need a car with a bit of clearance for the rough 300m access road, though this is true for lots of beaches etc in Samoa also (we had a 2wd Hyundai Creta which was fine). Tim and Maria were very hospitable and very generous with local advice. Would definitely stay here again.

  • My two friends and I stayed here for three nights and we had a wonderful, peaceful holiday! The area is very secluded and the garden is beautiful. At night we were cool and comfortable thanks to the high, domed ceiling. Sita and Tupo were so kind and helpful and made us feel very welcome and right at home. They brought over fresh fruit for breakfast and gave us great advice on things to do around the island. Would definitely return!

  • World class authentic service and location. A culinary (certified organic) extravaganza with so much food grown on the Plantation. Paul and Joan know how to be the consumate hosts. The best place that we've stayed in our 3 trips to Samoa by far. You must stay! David, Chris, Nick and Kane.

  • Joan and Paul are such amazing and warm hosts who go out of their way to make sure your stay in Samoa is great. Their house has everything you could need and want for any type of vacation. The grounds are enormous with fruit trees and vegetation native to Samoa. The athletic court and swimming pool are perfect. The large outdoor dining area - which is covered by a roof - is the perfect place to spend time with friends and family and soak up the warm breeze and fresh air off the ocean. The indoor living area and kitchen along with the bedrooms are clean and neat and quite large and are not lacking in any way. There is wifi and a/c along with a tv and game console to use. Paul is an outstanding chef and will gladly prepare food for your whole party that is tasty and locally sourced. He will even gladly prepare the fish you catch! Joan and Paul have connections with so many people throughout Samoa and can give you advise on where to go and what to see - make sure you take their advise - they will not steer you wrong. They will go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable and memorable. You will experience Samoa the way the locals do by staying here. Our stay was 100% amazing and I hope to visit again!

  • We were fortunate to be able to visit Independent Samoa after working in American Samoa. Paul and Joan have created a special place in this beautiful part of the South Pacific. The property consists of 3 units (one being their home). We stayed in the large 2 bedroom house. Beautifully decorated, super comfortable! There is a covered outside eating area and the front has all glass doors that overlook the pool and grounds, view of the ocean too! Paul went to the fish market and gave us two kinds of fantastic fish, which we cooked in the gourmet kitchen. Joan was very helpful giving us ideas of things to see and do. While the north side of the island is bustling with villages, the south side is much quieter. Much of the island is growing bananas, papaya, taro and coconuts. We saw sheep, cows, horses, pigs and plenty of dogs and chickens. The Samoan people are warm and friendly. The children loved to wave at us and wanted us to honk at them. We spent one fun day in the city of Apia. The craft or "flea market" is a must stop. Most of the tourists are from New Zealand or Australia. Ifiele'ele Plantation is the best place to stay in Samoa and experience the real island. We stopped at a number of resorts but will return to Ifiele'ele if we can come back.

  • Thank you so much Ana for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. Your sister Palepa and husband Faatulituli were very helpful and accommodating. Your home was literally our 'home' away from 'home' - even our families in Samoa were quite amazed at how beautiful, clean and spacious your home was - my children loved the outside yard - when its not too hot outside, they are running around the compound playing chase or just running :) So again, thank you so much - it was well worth the spend and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Samoa. My husband and I actually felt it was way better than staying at a hotel and would book it again in a heartbeat....And thank you as well for allowing us the late check out - it was much appreciated :) Thank you for everything Ana, Palepa and Faatulituli.

Churches of different denominations are also close by.

This apartment is by the Fuluasou River at Tulaele. It has all the basic amenities you need. Washing machine, microwave, jug, aircon in one bedroom and fan in the second room, roadside and 5 mins into town or 3 km walk. Clean with comfortable beds.
This space will make you feel relaxed and at home. Private and an ideal base to settle in at after exploring the island or after a hard day at work. Private balcony where you can relax with a cocktail and watch the river flowing.
Our neighbours are friendly and so its safe to walk up and down the road to catch the bus or walk to the shops.
  • Sesilia and her family and neighbours were very helpful. They answered all our questions and made our stay a pleasent experience. Distance to town is walkable in about 30 to 40 minutes, the neigbourhood is nice. The apartment is quite spacious and even has a back yard. Not many more than the usual bugs inside that one would expect in this climate (don't forget a mosquito-net!). Maybe providing some basic cleaning equipment would help. No WiFi though!

  • Located in a nice area just outside of the city of Apia. Walking distance for those that like to walk into the city & also near major transport & local shopping areas. A very clean & comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with all necessary utensils available for a short or long term stays. Assistance from staff members was available when required & always with a friendly smile. A very good option for a pleasant stay in Upolu Samoa. Regards Trace & Carrie Australia

  • This place was an enjoyable stay for 7 nights. It is a little bit secluded which means it is quiet but a car would be handy as it is 50 meters from a secondary road an 2 kms from a main road. By New Zealand standards it is basic but has the essentials. There is air conditioning in the main bedroom and a wall fan in the 2nd bedroom. There is a large fridge in the kitchen, double sink and a twin gas burner hot plate. Pots, fry pan, dishes and cutlery are provided. Water to the sink is cold only. There is a kettle and microwave. The shower has an electric heater. There is a toilet and bathroom sink. Towels and bedding is provided. The beds are a single? Double and queen. The double is firm. The queen is a bit softer. There is a TV. Internet is available by purchasing access cards. It may be worth buying a sim card on arrival to use while in Samoa. Windows have mesh on them to keep mosquitoes and flys out. The place was clean. Linen and towel changes were offered several times during the stay. There is a clothes washing machine which worked fine. This place provided all the amenities and was great for our stay.

  • Lovely and responsive host. quick response with great advice on what to pick up on the way, directions, and helpful suggestions. Great nightly rate for the amazing location in Apia. Place was tidy and hosts had the AC running before we arrived. Lots of space and cute little back porch with chairs to enjoy in the evenings. Great experience overall. Recommend.

  • Fantastic apartment, spacious, large kitchen with all facilities, aircon in bedroom works great, can cool entire place with door open, bathroom great. Highly recommend

  • The hosts are wonderful and helpful people from reservation to check-out. They will help you with the the typical tourist's needs like calling a taxi, information how to get somewhere or where to go on the island. The apartment I stayed in was a two bedroom, one air conditioned. There is a kitchen and a bathroom. The apartment is located approx 5 mins from Apia by car, taxi fare is 7 tala. Next to the apartments is a river where you can have a refreshing dip in the afternoon with the locals. By the way, the photos don't do justice to this nice place.

  • Sesilias apartment was great. Everything you needed on hand. My son & I were sick for the first 2 days of our trip & we were very appreciative for the spacious apartment, the clean facilities & aircon when needed. It's was better than we thought it would be. The photos don't do the image of the place justice. It is even better than most resorts because you can get hot water showers if you needed it. However, most mornings & evenings the water was warm anyway from the hot sun. Also, there is a washing machine on hand. I like things to be clean always so was very handy. You just need to buy your own washing powder $3 tala @ supermarket no biggie. For what you pay in some samoa hotels this was better and is outside of the city centre but still very central. 10 min drive to the city centre. Highly recommend to others travelling on a budget but still like something decent, safe and most importantly CLEAN. Even if not travelling on a budget. The only reason i would opt to stay in a hotel is for a pool on hot days but otherwise beaches, rivers everywhere in samoa. The family are onsite as well, really helpful & very friendly. Always smiling, they make me & my son feel safe. Ps. Apartment 3 has a mango tree just hanging over the back deck. Breakfast sorted. Yum! :)

Light, airy, modern, elevated fully self-contained holiday home in the balmy climate 'upcountry'. Sea and garden views. Gated, easy access, nice lawns and garden. The perfect base for your holiday adventures (or retreat from work!) - 15 minutes drive down the mountain north (Apia - shopping, nightlife etc) or south (resorts/beaches/nature walks). 10 min walk to stunning Malololelei nature reserve, close to Baha'i Temple & Montessori school. Long stay discounts 15-35%.
Tilly's Place has been built for maximum comfort - natural airflow, light, seaviews. It is made to be lived in and comes with all the bells and whistles! A large patio runs along the front, and high ceilings add to the feeling of spaciousness. All furniture, whiteware etc are quality goods imported from NZ. The space is designed to be adaptable, whether you are a cozy couple or a family with kids. The Ikea sofa in the living room converts to a very comfortable full queen size bed in a curtained corner, and the Ikea daybed in the bedroom pulls out / converts to a double (in addition to standard queen bed). We have a lovely huge garden with shade trees, play area for kids, petanque set, passionfruit, pineapple and papaya plants.
  • Beautiful house up in the mountains. Very centrally located on the island so it's easy to get around and see everything. The home has been recently built and has all the amenities you'd be used to back home. The host is easily the most communicative and helpful one I've ever had. So nice and gave us tons of places to go see. While in Samoa we interacted with the host's neighbor, Rob. He also was very helpful and invited us in for tea and a coconut cream demonstration. Honestly, such a great clean home and host, can't recommend this place enough.

    Phillip2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect base to see Upolu. It is stylish, clean and cooler than Apia as it is up in the hills. Rob is the perfect on-site host and even organised a wonderful birthday cake for one of us. I wish we had stayed here for the whole time we had on the island as it was just great. Gabrielle is kind, quick to respond and lovely.

    Tim2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a great base for exploring the island. It's close enough to Apia to drive into town for dinner and an easy drive to the beaches on the otherside of the island. Being higher up it's not as hot in the evenings, you have a great views and it's quiet and peaceful. The house has everything you could want, including stuff for snorkeling and the beach. Communication was great and the host provided lots of handy tips and advice. Rob was also on hand to help us with any queries and even brought us some coconuts. Was a great place, would highly recommend.

    Rosie2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The space is extremely peaceful up in the clear and cooler mountains. We were there for a family event so we didn’t have much time to enjoy the beaches and etc. however, the couple days we did have free e just lounged around the house; so peaceful. Rob was extremely accommodating and friendly. He worked with us and definitely went above and beyond.

    Kelly2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this 'home away from home' for 5 nights and loved every second of it. The house is modern and comfortable and has everything you would expect to find in your own home. The beds are super comfy and I loved having hot water for the shower and a washing machine to do our laundry! Made our trip much easier being able to do this! We spent a lot of time drinking coffee in the garden, watching films on the tv and doing puzzles. Malolelei is a beautiful area and very peaceful and quiet. The host Gabrielle was excellent with communication and sending us information for our stay and their property manager Rob was incredibly helpful. He drove us around, helped us organising things in town for our stay and made us feel very welcome and like old friends! We had the best time staying here and will definitely be back!

  • Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. 4 in our group got to enjoy the "home away from home" feel in this beautiful location. After a full on week of our missions trip, this was the perfect house for us to unwind. Being up in the mountain made us appreciate how peaceful and beautiful apia really is. Communication with home owners was great, the property manager Rob was always helpful and accommodating. The place is perfect, clean and has all the amenities we're used to at home. Loved it and can't highly recommend it enough. Am looking forward to my next trip as i will definitely be booking this property. We loved the recommendations of the local cafes/restaurants, as we tried a few of them and weren't disappointed. Thank you for allowing us into your home. 100%

  • Tilly's House is an amazing spot to make your base on a trip to Samoa. It is close enough to absolutely everything, a great size house with all amenities and a fantastic property manger, Rob that can't do enough for you. We made it out base for 8 nights and went exploring most days. The hills location meant that even when it was super hot in town, you got the mountain breeze at night. There was a fire pit and bbq, snorkeling gear, games, it truly was a home away from home. I can't recommend this place enough. Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in a lovely home, Tilly's House!

    Jenna And Henri2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly's Place is a great base for exploring Samoa - the house is very clean and extremely well thought out for tourists with everything there for a great holiday. We struggled with directions in general around Samoa, there are no road signs and the main tourist map is very basic and doesn't detail most roads. Internet is patchy and requires a local SIM card, when staying at Tilly's place I'd recommend hiring a car to get around. There are heaps of car rental places, we used Georgie's which we were really happy with. Just maybe buy a detailed map to take before you leave!

Our 2 bedroom apartments are clean with beautiful gardens surrounding property. Both rooms have air-con with hot water shower. Close to city and 2 minutes to sports complex with golf course. Safe, quiet and secure neighbourhood. Green environment and close to shopping. Love the big trees along the driveway from the main road.
Surrounded by big trees, inluding breadfruit trees, banana trees, green, cool and clean environment....
The neighbourhood is a small village community where most of the families are related and each one looks out for the other.
  • Sesilia was a wonderful accommodating hostess. Communication was a breeze. We stayed in both her Apia & Savaii accommodation & arrangements were easy with Sesilia. Apia apartments are spacious with full amenities, clean & well suited to a family and wheelchair accessible. Savaii was lovely because of an awesome girl named Ana who will make sure you have everything you need and always has a smile on her face. Thank you Sesilia.

  • Ok...first thing is the trouble with taxi from fagali'i in finding the place. Next thing is the three numbers listed as contact that our driver tried calling all three to no response to find the place. We just resorted to asking people on the street. Two taxi drivers had trouble finding the place- it forced us to just keep the same driver for rides so theres no further confusion. On top of that they didn't like going through the dirt road...they drove so slow leading up to the place. The amenities listed aircon, wifi, TV...the AC in the room I stayed in didn't turn on...the wifi is not a password you get to connect to wifi but a card you can purchase for $5 tala or more. Because my phone was on airplane mode to avoid roaming since my carrier is from the states, I just wanted to connect to wifi so i didn't use the card, The tv couldn't turn on and one of the assistants tried to get it working. Me and my cousin are hot, staring at each other cause the tv didn't work. There was an ant colony in the kitchen and a roach that crawled up my leg while laying in bed. I was supposed to stay three nights in Apia, I just stayed for one.

    Desi2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sesilia is lovely, very helpful and makes a mean palusami :) Her place is as described, spacious, with all the amenities, and a little terrace. For wifi she can get you a card. Just not for the noise sensitive (dogs barking at night, neighbours with loud music) - or bring earplugs - but overall a very good deal in Apia.

  • I was in Samoa for a funeral and needed somewhere to stay away from all the funeral and cultural events. The apartment was great, I didn't spend much time there but it was nice to have the space when I needed it and an escape from everything. Sesilia was lovely and I appreciate the concern shown towards me and support during a tough time. I especially appreciated lunch when I first arrived, before I'd hired a car or had a chance to do shopping, that was very sweet and thoughtful, thank you!

    Stephanie2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Host are very friendly, Leo offered me a ride to town when I arrived (as it is not walking distance), everybody was nice & appartment pretty new. However , the place was dirty, bedsheet & towels unwashed + cokroaches, spiders, worms everywhere, bed bugs, I didn't sleep all night & wouldn't recommend this place for someone traveling alone.

    Lucile2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing trip I was very pleased with the apartment and the neighborhood. Her nieces Moana and Lisa were exceptionally wonderful and are now dear friends of mine. I highly recommend staying here. Sesilia was warm and friendly and very well spoken. It's close to the city Apia and everything you need is close by. I will be returning to this beautiful island, I love Samoa!

Great for those that enjoy the feeling of waking up in the morning to the sound of the ocean. Located 30m from the ocean and pool
  • This is a very pleasant small resort in a beautiful location. Right on the seashore on a fair sized shallow lagoon with fringing coral reefs. Backed by steep forested mountains the resort is accessed from the main coastal road. Located on the approaches to Faleapuna village about 30 minutes drive from the Island capital of Apia. The airport is another 40 minutes drive West past Apia. Friendly relaxed resort staff made our stay very pleasant. Food was good with a varied menu. Local buses are cheap and run about every hour but beware as the last bus to you get you back to the resort leaves Apia about 5pm and the buses don't run at all on Sundays! Taxis aren't cheap so Car hire gives you the best option for freedom to come and go and explore the island as you please. Snorkelling from the shore is quite good on shallow patches of coral with plenty of small reef fish and hard corals to enjoy. Scuba diving in Northern Samoa is another matter as the reefs we visited around Apia were virtually destroyed in 2009 by a Tsunami. It will be many years before these once stunning reefs will rejuvenate. Definitely the worst Coral diving we've seen in 30 years of travel. Heartbreaking to see such devastation. Samoa has a very friendly, relaxed and safe atmosphere and we had a wonderful time at Le Uaina resort and around Samoa generally. We highly recommend this resort but travellers need to be aware it is a bit out of town and isolated without your own transport

  • I stayed here on my last night after travelling around Samoa for two weeks. 25 mins drive from Apia it's worth it to not stay in town. It was the first place to have aircon which felt like a luxury for our last night, and a mini fridge to keep everything cool. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The dinner was so/so, I recommend the grilled tuna with veggies. The pool area was lovely with good sized deck for lounging around.

House is very spacious but cosy and can add extra beds if needed. The outdoor Terrace upstairs is very nice for entertaining and hanging out especially in the afternoon and at night.
Our place is set up so as to be able to rent upstairs and downstairs separate. So if need be a cheaper option can be to rent upstairs only as a room with bathroom, mini frige and kettle etc or downstairs as a fully equiped One bedroom home.
Very good neighbours. Close to shops and town.

10 Minutes drive from downtown Apia and a world away where the cool mountain breeze and lush views bring serenity to your visit. We are a few minutes from Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, gardens, waterfall and Mt. Vaea walk. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, ambiance, people and the outdoor space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids) or groups.
This beautifully renovated conversion offers dramatic living space with high vaulted ceilings, large soaking tub and oversized glass shower with a large deck that overlooks the scenic panorama of the Apia Basin.
  • Russell was a most affable, genuine and helpful host. He gave us many local tips and we learnt a good deal about Samoan culture from him. Our location in Apia Hills was perfect for us as a family as we had hired a car for our 14 day stay. The Loft gave all members of our family space and privacy with two levels and a balcony. We had a terrific time in Samoa. Thank-you Russell!

  • Had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Russell's place. Russell is very welcoming and nearby if you need any assistance. The place is very spacious (especially for just two people), bright and airy with some wonderful artwork to add to the tropical ambience. The location is great, 10-15 minutes out of town, plenty of shops nearby for all your grocery needs, Robert Louis Stevenson down the road for a quick sweaty hike up mount vaea , or head straight up the road for a gorgeous drive over the mountains to access beautiful beaches and falls on other side of island. Having access to a full kitchen meant we could cook our own meals (money saver and healthier). Absolutely loved the balcony where we sat and ate breakfast and dinner almost every day to enjoy the breeze and calming vistas up in the treetops. This is my first air bnb experience in Samoa and now I won't bother with hotel accom anymore for future visits. For relaxation, peace and quiet, convenience and comfort, I highly recommend Russell's place.

Ideal for travellers looking for affordable accommodation and still have all the expectations of class and comfort. A home away from home. It has all the basic amenities you need. Washing machine, microwave, jug, aircon in one bedroom and fan in the second room, roadside and 5 mins into town or 3 km walk. Clean with comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom with hot water shower. Private but still have members of our family around to converse with as well as other guests.
Safe and secure, ideal for family and safe for single traveller. Main bedroom has air-con and second bedroom has a wall fan.
Safe and secure. Very good neighborhood.

I booked this place based on the previous reviews which were exceptional but the floor was not clean and there were bugs. Our home is located 2 mins from Sports Complex and 5 mins to town in a quiet family compound in Ululoloa. It is set back from the road and surrounded by plenty of trees and beautiful local birds can often be seen. There are several large supermarkets near by and we can organize a private transfer from the airport for $70. We can also help arrange a rental car and a map and guide are available. I live next door so am always on hand if you have questions or need help. My name is Georgina Lui.
Guests have the whole house available. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 1 is an ensuite with shower and the other has a bath and shower. There is a large lounge area which can sleep and extra 2 people as well as a patio. No smoking in house and no loud noise/parties. You are welcome to entertain in a civilized manner and refrain from noise after 10pm
Close to Sports complex. Catholic Church. Large supermarkets nearby.
  • Location is great as it’s close to town and good supermarkets. Being back off the road it’s very quiet. The house is spacious so even with a full house there’s plenty of room that you’re not always under each other’s feet. Stevie and Sacha (dogs) were lovely. Great value for money.

    Rachel2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina's home is Wonderful! Just stayed there for our family vacation and loved it, especially the AC in our room. So much space for our family of six.

    Becky2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, the house is massive!! The place is fully equipt with washer, dryer, bedding, towels, pots, pans you name it they have it, ALL INCLUDED. All windows and doors are covered with insect screens, every room has a ceiling fan and the master bedroom has an aircon unit (so good). Once the renovations are complete we think it would sleep 8-10 comfortably. The house is a little off the main road (Papaseea) and can be hard to find with a taxi straight from the airport. I suggest having Georgina's phone number handy and she can give the driver instructions (as was the case with our driver) Or give the driver landmarks such as the "Samoa Tradition Resort" (On the same road as the house) or "Frankie's Supermarket Ululoloa" for a general direction. Amazing value for money, nice and quiet. The family's dogs are lovely (Stevie & Pancake (chews shoes)) We want to thank you again for a wonderful stay! Totally recommend to all! 5 Stars *****

    Adam Hollard2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, amazing interior (especially the kitchen), cheap considering the value of the place, cooler than other villages so you didn’t need the aircon on & when it got a little hotter than usual the aircon helped, and the utilities (washer/dryer/aircon) were so amazing to have access to and at no extra fee. Loved having extra towels available to use (& good quality towels too - no short ones that barely covered your body) & overall, an amazing place and host! Five star! 10 stars if I can! Must stay if you’re visiting Samoa.

  • This place is so awesome located away from the main road peace and quiet. The home is so huge its not what we expected for the price we paid which is Excellent. The local shops are 3 mins away. If walking 15 to 20 mins. Nice friendly guard dogs. Our familys in Upolu saw the place and wanted to move away from their house and come and stay with us during our stay lol. Thanks again Georgina will come and stay again if on airbnb in the near future. God Bless.

  • The house has everything you will ever need for a beautiful and most comfortable stay in Sunny Samoa. We initially chose this accommodation because of the pool. My children enjoy swimming and we thought this was the perfect house to cool down after a long day of exploring samoa.... The house is a short 10min drive from town, About a 5 min drive from Mynas supermarket. There are little family stores along this road too where we picked up Niu and bananas every morning. The house is up on a hill so it is much cooler and breezy than a place in town. The house itself is so beautifully laid out, 4 huge bedrooms 3 of them with ensuites, a carport at the front which could fit 3 cars, The entertainment and bbq area outside was our main hub for our family. The kids loved playing on the ps4. The air conditioning in nearly every room was so lovely to have on the hot sticky days. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and thank you so much for stocking up the pantry and fridge for us to use. The Pool and Cabana area....now that space is magical. We swam day and night and there was plenty of lighting for the night time swims, I loved the colourful lights. We also had the bonus of the Washing machine and dryer. We are glad we had this facility at our fingertips. The cupboard was stocked with plenty of towels and tea towels too. The hosts lived in the apartment downstairs and were on call if we needed anything. The pool was cleaned daily and the grounds and gardens were kept immaculate by their groundskeeper who was there every weekday. He was a lovely boy but tried to stay out of our families way. Again I just want to say thank you so much! Faafetai Lava

  • You have to stay here during your Samoan vacation. This house is so lovely! The open layout is wonderful and provided a lot of space for my family (6 adults and and infant). Kisa was so helpful during our stay and answered any questions we had. This house is located not far from town at all!! It is located up some hills. One of our cars could not make it up the hills, so make sure you have a good car to handle going up. But our other car, a van, had no problems handling the hills. Because the house sits atop a hill, it is surrounded by the most beautiful views, which are PRICELESS! You feel secluded in this beautiful home amongst nature but it is still SO CLOSE to town. The house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (3 of them being ensuites)!! This is enough to accommodate your family or group! The kitchen is great and where we spent a lot of our time together as a family eating and laughing. The house has this amazing pool as well that the kids will love! The house was also very clean! Beds were comfy too, and the AC helped (although this area stays very nice and cool--we kept the doors open mostly to let the air filtrate in) THANK YOU again Kisa for everything and helping to make our stay so WONDERFUL!!

  • Kisa's place was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay there. Her home is beautiful and the kids loved swimming in the pool. Thank you Kisa for making our stay so comfortable!

    Becky2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kisa's home is literally the best. They had everything we needed. We felt at home and there was nothing we could ever complain about. Kisa was amazing at communicating and very kindly towards us. This home is so comfortable, we loved every moment shared in this home. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in Samoa.

    John2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • You must stay here. The facilities are fantastic for a family or a group, the pool is great and with a rental car it is well worth being in the tranquil quiet place but have Apia so accessible. Samoa is fairly new to the Airbnb game but this house was of the same exceptional standard that we had experienced all around the world. We go to Samoa every year and this hands down will be replacing our Tanoa Hotel stay as the service and facilities were much better than Tanoa and it is much more private. The photos are an understatement to this place. Book and you won't regret.

  • Climbing up the main Cross Island road across Samoa, we found Kisa’s lovely house and she was there to greet us at the door. A great host, she showed us round her lovely home, and the kids (group of 4 adults, 3 kids 5 and under) were delighted by the sight of a beautiful swimming pool after a hot journey from the Airport. Kisa’s place was a great location to the explore the island, which for us included trips to Lalomanu and To Su’a. Plus plenty of time to relax and have fun in the pool, which was perfect for the kids. Definitely a great place to base yourself to explore what Samoa has to offer.

  • Absolutely AMAZING place to stay at. This was our first experience with an Air BnB and we LOVED it!!!! Latu greeted us as we arrived and showed us through their beautiful house. He and his lovely wife Kisa were excellent hosts. The view out towards the Harbour was breath taking and the house was fully equipped with everything and I mean everything, you name it they had it! The house was modern and the garden was beautiful. The kids loved the pool and practically lived in it. Great location as well up in the hill where the air is fresher and it wasn't too hot, you could feel the heat as soon as you drove down the mountain into town. All in all we had an amazing experience and we highly recommend this place especially for a family with kids. A+++++++ Thank you once again Latu and Kisa for being lovely hosts and for opening your beautiful house for us to use. God bless x

Interior/architect designed studio with fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom and laundry. Located in a tranquil setting in the hills above Apia, the property is approximately 12-15 minutes' drive from the centre of town and a 15 minute drive over the hills to the south coast with its many beautiful beaches. The studio is ideal for mature couples, solo and business travelers.
The studio is located on the lower level of our recently completed home. It has a private entrance and large glass sliding doors opening on to a private patio overlooking gardens, Mt Vaea and a spectacular view of eastern Apia, the reef and ocean beyond. There is a queen-size bed and a living area with a comfortable sofa and coffee table as well as a small dining table (with 2 chairs) that can either be used inside the studio or moved to the patio so that guests can dine whilst looking out to the beautiful garden and views. The kitchenette is equipped with all essentials and there is a full-size refrigerator with separate freezer compartment. A wall-mounted TV (on a swivel fixture) is able to be viewed from the bed as well as the seating area. Lounge chairs, with cushions and a sun umbrella are available for the patio. The washing machine and tub are concealed behind cupboard doors. Our property is gated and fenced and the studio has its own gate and driveway. There are mosquito screens on all the louvred windows and a mosquito net is also provided. Because of the altitude (approximately 430 metres above sea level)temperatures are generally 2-3 degrees cooler than in Apia and there is usually a refreshing breeze. There is a well-stocked supermarket a few minutes' drive away as well as a number of roadside fruit and vegetable stalls.
Our neighbourhood is quiet and residential. We are almost at the midpoint of the Cross Island Road between the north and south coasts. The view down to eastern Apia, the reef and expansive ocean is spectacular, especially when there is a colourful sunset.
  • Lovely, modern apartment with a stunning view of the town below. High enough up the mountain to escape the heat, but still close enough to all the action in Apia. Jeanne is a great host as well.

    Emma2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne’s studio was great, everything you need but also great special touches such as fresh flowers. It is located up the mountain with great view over Apia. What really made my stay special was Jeanne and her husband’s hospitality. They really made me feel welcomed!

    Pauline2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne's Studio apartment suited us because we could buy local food and cook it ourselves, or eat out, which ever we felt like. We had lots of raw and cooked Tuna, Cray fish and local fruit and veg. Papaya, topped with thin skinned babanas every day for breakfast, went down a treat. The apartment is quite high above Apia, with a view down to the city and sea with the coral reef clearly visible. It takes no more than 10 minutes to drive into Apia, unless you have to follow a taxi doing 20 km/hr all the way. We hired a car at the airport, booked in advance from Samoana Rentals. (Cheap and very easy to deal with) This allowed us to be cleared customs and knocking on Jeanne's door, in just over an hour after landing. We recieved a warm welcome, and during our stay had all the help we needed, without being in the least looked over. It was like having the beautiful large garden to ourselves. The apartment is of good size, modern and has all the comforts of home. No oven, but an electric fry pan allows most things and fit's a good sized cray fish. Parking is beside the apartment, there are shops and supermarkets nearby, and stalls selling drinking coconuts, fruit and veg on the road side. There are plenty of Taxis, and the bus travels regularly in to Apia down the main road, 100 meters away. The buses are locally built on trucks, have no windows. They are gaily painted each with it's own name. We visited resorts to swim and lounge by the pools and enjoyed it, but the freedom we enjoyed at Jeanne's suited us so much more. Highly recommended. Colin and Misoo

  • The host was very friendly and accommodating. Well appointed and comfortable with stunning views. Great spot, thanks Jeanne!

    Shelley2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic property to use as a base to explore the beauty of Samoa. The place has everything you need to dine in, but is close enough to Apia to explore the town. A car is recommended to explore the island and the property gives you the independence to do so. What makes it even better is the friendliness and hospitality of Jeanne and her husband. Fa’afetai for all the happy memories and for making it feel like home. The dogs were a real treat.

    Antonios2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say - Jeanne's place, perched on the mountainside amongst verdant, colourful gardens is a true gem. Perfectly located just a short distance outside Apia, you get a sense of both being 'away from it' whilst also feeling safe and secure. The apartment itself is private and self-contained, but with daily (and frequent!) visits from Jeanne's beautiful dogs, meaning it really does feel like a 'home from home'. Jeanne herself was so very generous in her hospitality and provided us with an abundance of local knowledge, as extra touches such as filtered water whenever we needed it and a basket of fruit. The Studio was the perfect base from which to explore Samoa, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone venturing to this beautiful part of the world.

    Benjamin2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was absolutely wonderful and I'm actually a bit sad to be checking out! The location is fabulous, as it's close to anything you need yet not too far from town. There is such a peaceful vibe in the place, as you stare out the large glass doors over the beautiful gardens, ocean view and town below. Jeanne is by far the best host I've had yet, quick to respond, offering fresh fruit, filtered water and clean towels, etc any time. But on top of that, just an absolutely lovely person. The studio has everything you could need and it was an absolute joy to stay. Highly recommended!

    Ashlee2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne's Studio is very new, clean, very well appointed and located in an area of Apia which is quiet, cool (compared to downtown Apia) and very private. It was ideal for me as a single business traveller for a 2 week stay. Supermarkets and taxi are reasonably close by. I will definitely be staying at Jeanne's for my next business trip to Apia in August. Jeanne is a delightful host who respected my privacy but was always available to help me with local advice and tips.

Talofa lava. Welcome. Come and enjoy your stay in Samoa in our newly built/constructed house in Letava/Vailima Hills. This house is brand-new and only finished March 2018. Our place is the best of two worlds, offering you the wonderful peace and quiet of the bush and forest and being only 15minutes from Apia Town/Markets. Guests can enjoy ocean views from the spacious balcony, and the early morning sunrise. The elevation of the house in the hills captures the cool breeze/air in the evenings.
Conveniently located within 5 minutes from supermarkets and petrol station. Guests can enjoy the modern interior, neutral colours and open-plan living. All rooms have ceiling fans and hot water is supplied via solar panels. The house is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen. The area is secure and safe, as the surrounding neighbourhood is a tight-knit retiree community. This house is owner-operated and will supply cash power for the duration of your stay.
  • Was an absolutely lovely stay! Picked us up from the airport! Went above and beyond, to cater for us! Even got us a good deal on a hire car! I highly recommend to stay here! They naighbors are so nice always smiling, making you feel welcome! Will defiantly be going back! xxx thank you for having us!

  • The house is beautifully built, only 9 months old. There are 2 spacious bedrooms and a third single bed bedroom. Two bathrooms and an amazing kitchen and living room with everything you need. The entire house has fans which makes the air move and keep it cool. Amazing outside patio and garden to relax and see the stars. The communication with James was amazing and his parents are nearby and ready to help. We absolutely recommended this place.

    Bruno2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet, peaceful & harmonious place set amongst green and lush Vailima Hills with views to the city and a beautiful sunrise in the mornings. If you want to relax, this is your perfect oasis with only a short distance to town (about 15 minutes) There are restaurants, hairdresser, coffee shops, supermarkets, gas station, hospital etc..all within 5 to 10 minutes drive. Also 5 minutes to the famous Robert Louis Stevenson's resting place & beautiful bush walkways. We had an amazing stay in this brand new 3 bedroom & 2 bathroom home. Clean and spotless with everything you need as your home away from home. Big house with an open plan kitchen & living area, laundry room with a well stocked linnen cupboard. New lawn and garden. Fenced and gated in a very secured small developing area with mostly retirees from overseas. Awesome hosts. Very accomodating & can pick and drop you off airport for a fee if you organise in advance. They can also organise a Rental vehicle if need be. 20 to 30 minutes to amazing beaches and longer if you want to keep exploring the other side of the island. Highly recomended place and area to stay in. Thank you for a very relaxed break. The Moretons

  • We have spent 4 lovely weeks at James's beautiful, brand new home in Letava . Staying here has made our stay in Samoa just perfect. We are the first guests to stay in their home. It is it is sparkling clean, the beds are all very comfortable- which was a relief with such a long stay! The linen cupboard is well stocked with everything needed for all the beds, and plenty of towels are provided. The owners, Alo and Liz, live nearby, and are from Samoa so have plenty of local knowledge. They are also very kind and responsive to our questions. I love this home, the peace and tranquility that it provides being outside of Apia central is so refreshing. It is a 15 minute drive up the hill but so worth it. It is like being in another world up here, it is quiet, and at night you can hear the river running just outside. On most days you can sit on the deck and see the ocean and watch the sun rise. It is also so much cooler up here than in the flats. Another plus to James's home is that it is only a 25 minute drive to the South side of Upolu, and gorgeous beaches. We stayed here with our three teenagers and we all loved it. The neighborhood is very quiet, the neighbors all very friendly, and seem to all look out for one another. For a relaxing stay, outside of Apia, but yet close enough to access the City, we highly recommend James's place! Shaun and Kristin

  • This house is a remarkable value!! There's plenty of room for 4 people, and the kitchen has plenty of amenities for cooking a full meal. We had hot water and AC all weekend, as well as full access to the washing machine. The combination of cleanliness, affordability, and comfort was such a rare find in Apia, and we can't wait to come back!

    Carinne2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Good, safe, comfortable accommodations, with one complaint (see below), but the guide service offered by the host made this stay exceptional. The house is clean and comfortable, with a full kitchen, a washer, a bed in the main space and another in a back bedroom, a seating and dining area, and two air-conditioners. There is a fence around the house. The whole thing is also adjacent to an electronics store that has a parking area and locking gate at the street, so it felt very secure. Another larger rental property is in the the back of the lot. The store and other rental had no effect on my stay, and the store actually serves as a convenient landmark for taxis. It's just a few minutes from both the the Fagali'i Airport and the craft market. Make sure you know what airport you are flying into. Travelers on my plane made a mistake and thought they were headed to the other, larger Faleolo International Airport. There are restaurants nearby and a convenience store across the street. My one complaint was that I found some dead roaches. They are working to control this, and the operator is dedicated to good customer service, but it is the tropics after all. I expect this to improve quickly. The island has nice things to see and do. The market has great deals on local handmade crafts, but be sure you know when it will be open. From American Samoa the country is ACROSS THE INTERNATIONAL DATE LINE. The deals are great for Americans because of the exchange rate. When I was there one US dollar bought more than 2.5 Samoan Tala. So a 50 Tala kava bowl was less than $20 USD. You can also haggle at least 20% and up to 30% at times off the listed price. So a 300 Tala bowl will often be offered at 250, and you might be able to talk them down to 225 or less, which comes out to less than $90 (but check the exchange rates at the time of your trip). You can't get these prices in American Samoa or Hawaii ! Food is cheap too. A steak dinner with appetizer, salad bar, main course, and dessert was 85 Tala, or $33 USD. But you can get good BBQ for 10 Tala or $4 USD. A quarter-pounder at McDonald's was 15 Tala or $6 USD. The snorkeling is amazing. Piula (Fatumea) Cave pool is cool, and the To Sua Ocean Trench is unique; both very fun to snorkel. The coral is in unbelievably good shape, and overflowing with fish - just gorgeous. There are white sand beaches. Right now the island is beginning to improve it's ability to accommodate tourists, much better than American Samoa in this regard, and still has a feel like Hawaii had a generation or two ago: cheap, low-crime (I never feared for pick-pockets), lightly traveled, with great beaches. Now is the time to go before it gets swamped with travelers...

The Samoan Highland Hideaway Homestead is the ultimate family holiday home. Boasting multiple living areas, large modern kitchen, 4.5 bedrooms. We are semi-off-grid, have solar power with battery and mains back-up, rainwater tanks, and our own plantation.
The Samoan Highland Hideaway Homestead is the ultimate family holiday home. Boasting multiple living/hang out areas, modern kitchen with breakfast bar, stunning elevated deck overlooking the private plantation and gardens, a unique massage/relaxation room and supremely comfortable and spacious bedrooms for a variety of family dynamics! The top level of the house hosts the master ensuite bedroom, a double bedroom, and wrap-around enclosed lounge/yoga studio (props included!) area. The bottom level, surrounded by the gardens, consists of another double bedroom, a twin share bedroom with two single beds, shared bathroom, library/reading room, AND the unique massage/relaxation/spare room (single bed) for those much required quiet moments.
The Samoan Highland Hideaway Homestead is located in the hills above Apia, about a 20 minute drive from the great places to eat and drink whilst you're here.
  • Great escape from the heat and craziness of Apia town. Best umu I have eaten in many years. Felt like we were part of a large happy extended Samoan family. Wonderful gardens and quiet nights. Tim and Maria are fantastic hosts. On arrival we were surprised By their generosity - they provided coconuts, avocados, pawpaw, bananas and limes. They were full of helpful tourist advice, friendly and patient as we attempted Samoan. Great place for families and plenty of room, would recommend highly. The house is huge and provided more than enough space for all the family. Lovely balcony overlooking the plantation, close drive to all shops & Apia, and so peaceful. Thank you from all our family Tim & Maria - you were both amazing and the house superb. Reviews above from 3 in our family.

  • Samoan Highlands Hideaway is a fantastic option in Samoa. It allows a large group to be catered for as well as a smaller grouping enjoying the beautiful gardens, environment and opportunities to explore Upolu. Tim and Maria are wonderfully caring hosts with a sense of adventure that is infectious. I could not recommend the accommodation and experience more highly. If resorts are not your thing then Samoan Highlands Hideaway has the charm and Samoan feel with no artificiality. It is natural.

  • We, being 7 Aussie girls, stayed at the Tim and Maria's Hideaway House in the hills of Samoa. We loved the house and how big and beautiful it was. Maria greeted us when we arrived and Tim dropped in and have gave us good tips for travelling around the islands. We loved the huge amounts of fruit they gave us every morning right from their backyard. Overall we had a really great time! Would have been awesome if it were a bit closer to town but the views were definitely worth it all. Thank you!!

    Kate2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Maria provided us with great accomodation. The house is large and is in a very quiet village. We were able to walk to the local corner shop and meet plenty of happy locals. Sita and Tupo were extremely helpful when we needed them and took great care of the house as Tim and Maria were away. Could not ask for any better people to assist us. The house is very cool as there are plenty of fans and is situated above sea level. The gardens surrounding the house are wonderful which our kids loved playing in. The only negative thing was the ants, but it didn't have an impact on our stay. We had a great time and I highly recommend staying in this house if you travel to Samoa. 9.5 out of 10. Thanks Tim and Maria for letting us stay at your house. We will be returning again.

  • Beautiful house and setting with lush gardens and the sounds of nature wafting through the louvres. All facilities good (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, living areas) and such friendly and welcoming hosts and pets. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Fa'afetai tele lava! Suggested improvements: tv/dvd player; ant control measures, particularly downstairs

  • In a secluded location up the hill from Apia, it makes a good base to explore the island from. Definitely a good base for a bigger group, plenty of rooms in the main house and good to have a kitchen.

  • I could not recommend a better place to stay in Samoa. We where a group of 5 all young adults. The houses run by Tim and Maria are absolutely stunning, I honestly do not have a bad word to say about them! It's all about a cultural experience and you most definitely get that here way more than any resort! Tim and Maria themselves where absolutely amazing catering to our every need! They will have great success with this business they are the best hosts we've ever had. The grounds man is also a top bloke ensuring complete safety for all guests along with delivering us fresh fruit straight from the grounds daily! He even taught us how to climb the coconut trees! I will be back! Had the best time ever!

  • Super nice houses, the location is perfect if you need to get to town, but already halfway to the South Coast and the nice beaches and absolutely stunning views of the sea. Really nice hosts, they are also on the premises and managed to get us all we needed really quickly! We had a really good time and would stay again any time.

Granny flat attached to a house. Separate private entrance. Very sought after location in prestigious village Vailima. Delicious breakfasts cooked by a chef. Taxi ride to town $8-10 tala, to airport $70-80 tala. The views are simply amazing! There is an outside kitchen, BBQ and a private outdoor area with lounges and coffee table. Because the house is located higher in the mountain it is a lot cooler than in town. Water cooler in the room Hot water.
It’s a studio with its own shower and toilet. Shower has only cold water in the room. But if you really want hot shower you are welcome to come in the main house. There is a private outdoor area with partial views. Shared swimming pool and deck with views.
The house is located in the dead end of a very nice quiet street. It’s close to RSL museum and a track up mt. Vaia. Close to STREP and Myna’s supermarket. There is a strip of shops very close by with “whipped” ice cream shop, best curry in town and local talented designer. Only 3 min drive to hospital, giordanno’s pizza and Krush cafe. 8 min drive to town and about the same to the Edge. 5 min drive to locally famous “Home” cafe where all tourist gather up on Wednesday’s. 30 mins drive to the other side of the island where the beaches are. 45 min drive to “To Sua” trench. 50 min drive to Lalomanu beach. 50 min drive to airport.
  • We had a great time staying at Zoya's place. Beautiful quiet location, very peaceful and cool up in the mountains. Zoya and her husband were very accommodating and cooked us a delicious breakfast, we were so impressed! Comfortable bed and clean facilties, cold pool. I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Very welcoming family. Lion's cooking is amazing and the views from the breakfast table are stunning. They have time for a chat and they have loads of advise for things to do and places to go on the island. The room is big and the cooking equipment is very good. Can't fault this place, will definitely come back in the future

  • Such an amazing place to stay in Samoa. Walkable if need be to the city center but more easily a cheap taxi away from downtown. A lovely private room with over the top hospitality and delicous breakfasts every morning as well as great conversation with Zoya and Lion.

  • It is a very pleasant stay with Zoya family. The place is in cool zone to cool down from the hot of Apia, which I needed it badly. Yet it is close to downtown enough to walk if needed. The breakfasts were such a treat and Zoya's husband, being a chef, treated me with really yummy diners, even fresh tuna sashimi which you normally won't get from restaurants that often. While their daughters and pets kept me entertained during my whole stay. Their tips and insights about Samoa are much appreciated. I would highly recommend Zoya as THE host to any people who visits Apia and wants a perfect sweet spot to base their journey around Upolu. So many thanks for all your help, Zoya and family :D

  • Awesome hosts who are very attentive and full of local knowledge. Accommodation is close enough to walk to the town and the marina and is perfect for a short stay in Samoa :)

  • Located just outside of the city, the place is an easy taxi ride or 20 minute walk into town. Comfy place with aircon and super helpful hosts that provided tips and info that allowed us to sort out or travels around the island.

  • The place was as advertised, very close to Taumeasina Resort which was where I had family staying so great location. Good coffee just across the road and I felt safe with the dog there in the yard. Justine was an excellent host, she picked me up from the airport and showed me where everything was (supermarket, good coffee, the resort and where to get a SIM card). Communication was also really great, easy to get in touch with and quick responses.

  • Perfect location, very close to downtown and supermarkets. Clean, stylish, equipped kitchenette and good working air co. Justine is super friendly and extra available.

  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and can't praise our hosts enough for their hospitality, which was friendly and genuine. Lovely Justine had really helpful tips of the local places to visit, things to do as well as things to be mindful about. Justine also offered assistance with transport to and from the house which was so helpful as we didn't have a car and there are no street addresses in Samoa. The place itself was beautifully presented, simple but very clean and stocked with basic essentials such as hand soap, toilet paper, washing powder, bottled water and basic cooking ingredients. The large fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, washing machine and air con were all in excellent condition. The house was also well secured with the onsite guard dog ("Brownie" who is great company) and a lockable fence. The location is ideally placed with a mere $5 taxi to get anywhere in Apia from the house and taxi's are so frequent in the area, you won't be waiting long for a ride. I highly recommend this accommodation and the hosts and are very grateful for their hospitality and look forward to coming back sometime soon.
