A lot of castles are just walls - this castle has lots more to it - costumes, artwork and the famous ‘wheel of urine’ (well … famous with our kids …).

As part of the Jersey Heritage attractions, Elizabeth Castle is accessible at low tide by foot, or, at both low and high tide, the castle ferry, which will transport you across the bay to and from the castle. Elizabeth Castle is the perfect place to spend a day exploring Jersey's history. Climb the battlements, explore the turrets and bunkers and discover the Hermitage where Saint Helier is thought to have lived around 550 A.D.

A castle with a play area for children and information of it's use. Gorgeous harbour views. It is located at the the top a hill with some steep steps. No wheel chair access.

This is a great activity for any time of year whether you are young or old. Views from the top of the castle are stunning and if you like history then you can't go wrong. As for children then there is an opportunity to dress up - explore and enjoy the rustic play area. Certainly worth a visit. Look out for the Dragon!
