During the communist regime, when the faith was outlawed, the Catholics defied the ferocious regime by making pilgrimages, especially on the 13th Tuesday of St. Anthony's Day, with reports of healings of the sick for many years, and not only Albanian Catholics but also Muslims and those of other religions.

In english is St. Anthony Church, build in 1557, destroyed in 1971, and rebuild in 1990. It is named after Anthony of Padua.
