Best bar views in town over the Old Course and out to sea: Road Hole Bar on the top floor of the Old Course Hotel. Food not as pricey as you may think. Only provide lunch in the bar or go to the grill/restaurant on same floor.

Try the bar on the top floor - the drinks are relatively cheap, the whiskey selection is VERY wide but the view is equal to none - see the entire gold course, the sea and the town in a comfortable arm chair whilst a pianist plays some soft music in the background. Fantastic! (Word of warning - stick to drinks - the food is decidedly below average and over-priced)
