A genuine gastro-pub restaurant. Up there with the Plough at Stalisfield as one of the best local country pubs to arrive at the end of a country walk. Really great food and ales - also a free house. Serving what is probably the best food in the downs, it is a tad pricey but worth it.

Our nearest pub, run by Dalton and Paulo, great food and a real historical gem of a gastro pub. A 16th Century Coaching Inn.

16th century pub with a huge open fire and a large garden simple classic pub food, a 30min walk from the cottage. Perfect for an afternoon walk.
