Situated in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, a one hour drive from Melbourne's CBD, The Artisan’s Cottage is a truly unique place to unwind. Set in almost one acre of rambling gardens, the cottage features a spacious bedroom with a queen sized bed, a beautifully appointed ensuite, a large living/dining room warmed by a wood fire and a well equipped kitchenette. The Artisan's Cottage is home to Penny Olive Sourdough bakery and Tiny Block Wine, run by your hosts Penny and Andrew.

Romantic retreat overlooking forest Stylish decor with ambient lighting and original artwork create a modern warm and cosy feel. The zen inspired private garden is for the exclusive use of our guests. The Artisans Apartment is a self-contained dwelling with queen size bed and bathroom. The second room includes a small dining table and a sofa bed that we can make up for an additional guest or two. There is a fully functioning kitchen with breakfast ingredients supplied.

Enjoy the sunset over the surrounding hill then indulge in a luxurious spa under the stars or simply watch the abundanthe wallabies/deers/wombat that often graze on the grassy slopes at dawn and dusk. Have a delicious BBQ, then enjoy the fun of basketball and table tennis. Dozens of Cockatoos fly over the house at dusk. Lombardy poplar leaves on the drive way turn yellow in the fall, and don't forget to take photos with the incredible red maples at the front yard!

Our 1959 vintage caravan is just 12ft long, best for a couple or two friends. Wake up to the sounds of Lyrebirds, enjoy a private walk in our rainforest gully and stroll around the garden, one of the best private gardens in the Dandenongs. Offering a minimum of one night stay for a quick getaway or to stay longer & enjoy the peace, light the fire pit, which is under cover, ideal if it's raining (made from a beer keg), and roast marshmallows.

Dingleigh of Sassafras - Reader's Cottage

A forest hideaway in the Dandenong Ranges. Nestled between ferns and maples, Dingleigh of Sassafras is one of the original cottages on the property, lovingly restored and updated. Walking proximity to Sassafras, local shops, famous gardens & the national park. Dingleigh and its gardens offer an ideal location for wedding preparations and small wedding ceremonies.
