Maltons, one of the area's finest restaurants is just at the end of the lane.

Historic Old Stables in central Bishops Stortford

The Old Stables are in a courtyard, set back from Windhill, right in the heart of Bishops Stortford, close to restaurants, pubs, cafés and shops. Conversion of a historic coach-house and stables into a self-contained cottage which sleeps 4 or even 5/6 by arrangement. There is a high-ceilinged entrance hall with wood burner. The spacious kitchen is well-equipped. There are two double beds in the same room (one on a mezzanine floor above the other) and a double sofa bed in the dining area.

With it's exposed oak beams, log fireplace and hot tub, this is a special place to relax in comfort and unwind, a perfect escape from the city. We aim to provide a luxurious stay in this 3 bedroom barn conversion which can sleep up to 6 people. All three bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and we use B-Corp bedding, shampoos & conditioners.

The Hertfordshire Barn is detached with two bedrooms. On-site, we also have a converted Granary with three beds and ensuite (10 m from the Barn) and the adjacent Nook which sleeps two (additional fees for over 6 guests). The Thatched Barn makes a great central space for social and corporate events with an open plan ground floor covering 100 sqm. One of the ensuites has an oversized spa bath, there is a hot tub and even a secret cinema! The minimum stay is strictly three nights.

It is located 2 miles from Epping and ideally located for people attending weddings at Gaynes Park, Blake Hall and Mulberry House. Epping tube station (central line) is under five minutes drive.

The Steam Engine CoachHouse

The CoachHouse is an old building, that was used until a few years ago for keeping a horse! It has been fully renovated, but we wanted to maintain as much of its character as possible (like keeping visible the wooden roof beams). There is a mezzanine accessible through a spiral staircase which is used as the bedroom area, an extendable dining table, a sofa bed, a fully fitted kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
