Our property is a traditional Welsh longhouse dating back to the 16th Century. It has original features and log fires. It is in a beautiful isolated location in Mid Wales set in the hillside overlooking the river Edw, which flows into the Wye. It is indeed a retreat, a get away from it all. We are eight miles from the nearest town and four miles from the village. Peace perfect peace, with just the sounds of the wildlife and on a clear night, the beautiful sunsets and abundance of stars.

Based on a beef and sheep farm, just 8 miles from Builth Wells, 14 miles from Hay-on-Wye and 15 miles from Brecon. It is in a sunny, scenic, rural spot. Access to numerous footpaths, only a 10 minute hike to join the Wye Valley Walk. 10 minute drive or a scenic walk to local rural pub. It has been decorated to create a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable holiday experience.

The decor has been styled to create an arty feel, each room individually designed depicting 1 of 5 of my favourite artists. Gustav Klimt adorns the large open plan lounge/kitchen/dinner, Lowry in the king size bedroom & en-suite, Monet in the double bedroom en-suite , Picasso in the hall and Hockney in the minstrel’s gallery.

The bedroom is in a converted barn with its own access. Ideally located for walkers and easy access to the Royal Show Ground. Please note that the access to the house is via a fairly steep and narrow lane (last section is a track with loose gravel), not suitable for HGVs. We now provide super fast internet!!
