  • Haven on the Hill to fantastyczny wypoczynek dla osób pragnących spokojnego relaksu.

Caroline and Danny x

  • Niezwykłe i romantyczne miejsce.

Oszałamiający dziwaczny wagon pełen ciekawostek i bibelotów. Bardzo ciepło dzięki palnikowi na drewno. Bezpłatna kawa herbata gorąca czekolada i ciastka. Uwielbialiśmy piec do pizzy. Percy osioł i max owce były idealnymi sąsiadami. Piękne przyjazne zwierzęta, które przyszły powitać nas rano. Vicky i Andy są niesamowitymi ludźmi. Naprawdę przyjaźni i idealni gospodarze.

    Natalie2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mieliśmy piękny pobyt dzięki Remy'emu i Sonyi. Wiele specjalnych akcentów, takich jak domowy sok jabłkowy z własnych jabłoni! Basen i jacuzzi były idealne, a nastrojowy pub krów był świetną rekomendacją zaledwie kilka minut!

    Jennifer2019-06-23T00:00:00Z

    Emma2019-05-30T00:00:00Z

Self-contained annexe attached to 16th-century house. Two spacious rooms (double & triple) with views over a pretty walled garden. Shower room and kitchen. Plenty of parking. Self-service breakfast included. Peaceful location.
The single-story annexe (on the far left of the main photo) is attached to our family home and has its own entrance so you can come and go as you please. Dating from the 1950s, it comprises two light and spacious south / west facing double bedrooms, hall, shower room and kitchen, and is surrounded by a large walled garden. (Note that there is no separate sitting room). Apart from the beds, all furniture dates from the early 20th century, so if your style is modern, minimalist, or matching, this may not be the place for you! We provide freshly-laundered bedlinen & towels and each room is equipped with a double bed, sofa, table, wardrobe, television/DVD player, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. Both double beds have new Silentnight Easycare Deluxe mattresses (medium to firm) and we use White Company bedlinen. There is limitless hot water from the combi-boiler and the central heating is on an automatic timer, which you can easily override if you need a warmer or cooler room. The small kitchen has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge and is stocked with tea & coffee plus self-service breakfast items (fruit juices, cereals, toast & preserves, yoghurt, pastries). Note that the kitchen does not have a cooker or washing machine. There is plenty of parking available on our driveway, directly outside the annexe. BEDROOM ONE The main bedroom can sleep up to 3 people, having a double bed plus a single sofa-bed which has a proper mattress. (Note that the single bed will normally be presented as a sofa, so let us know when booking if you would like it to be made up as a bed). The large picture-window faces due west and overlooks the herb garden. BEDROOM TWO This large south-facing room is light and spacious and has a double bed and sofa. Views out over the walled garden. BOOKINGS FOR TWO GUESTS Bookings for 2 people or fewer will have the use of only 1 of the bedrooms unless by prior arrangement, as there will be an additional charge of £10 if both rooms are required. SOLO TRAVELLERS Sorry, but we are unable to accept bookings for 1 person on Saturday nights. CHILDREN AND DOGS We are unable to host for dogs or for children under 12 years of age.
Although close to the M5, Nastend is a small hamlet of only 12 houses on a 'no through' road, accessed via a single-track sunken lane. Situated just off the Severn Vale, close to the Cotswold escarpment, the Cotswold Way national trail passes just 2 miles from here. There are plenty of beautiful walks in this area, from the high open spaces of the limestone commons, through the beechwoods along the escarpment to the fields and lanes in the valleys. The recently restored Stroudwater canal goes right past the end of our lane and is perfect for walking, running or cycling towards Stroud, which is 5 miles away. From there, you can either continue along the canal towards Chalford and Cirencester, or take the old route of the railway to Nailsworth which has been converted to a cycle track. We regularly use these safe, scenic routes and can recommend various very lovely cafés along the way. There are plenty of places to eat out, our local is the very popular Old Badger at Eastington, which is just over a mile away. We also spend many happy evenings at the Bell Inn at Selsley which is always excellent. Both are very popular, so we would recommend advance booking. We have lots of other favourites... too many to list here!

Underdean Lodge is a lovingly restored 2 double bedroom Georgian lodge on the edge of the Forest of Dean and is the perfect base for exploring both the Forest and the Wye Valley. The lodge includes beautiful period features and a wood burning stove. Dogs welcome. Footpaths lead to the Forest from the front door. We are ideally located adjacent to the A48 for convenient access to Gloucester, Monmouth and Chepstow which are all about 25 minutes away. View 'The Space' for Covid-19 measures taken.
We have restored this Grade 2 listed Georgian gate house sympathetically but with all the modern touches one requires for a comfortable stay away from home. The lodge is warm and cosy and despite its proximity to the road, is extremely quiet, thanks to high quality secondary and double glazing throughout. The house is decorated throughout with prints and photos of the surrounding area and we have a large map in the kitchen to help you plan your days out and country walks. COVID-19 UPDATE: Here is some additional information about the lodge in light of recent government announcements. We hope these put your mind at rest and show that you can still visit yet stay within current rules. - The lodge is located at least 30m from our house and more than 100m from any other neighbours. It also has it's own private parking area. - There are walks into the open countryside direct from the door. - Many of our guests have received online shopping deliveries to the lodge in the past so we know this is possible. - The lodge will be fully aired between guests. - We've implemented a new, even more rigorous, cleaning regime ensuring that all surfaces are throroughly washed with a bleach based cleaning fluid and we wash bedding in Dettol anti bacterial washing detergent (sensitive).
Breathtaking views of the River Severn are accessible just a few minutes walk from the Lodge and for those who want to go further, Forest walks are a 15 minute walk away down a pretty country lane. The Lodge is the ideal base from which to explore the Forest with multiple walks and amenities within the Forest, such as GO APE!, just a 10 minute drive away. The Cock Inn in Blakeney is a superb friendly local with a welcoming fire, lovely beer garden and terrific food as well. Blakeney is also served by a nice Italian restaurant, Dolce Vita, and a decent Fish & Chip Shop. Newnham is also only a couple of miles away. This, again, offers a range of pubs, a great cafe and some lovely shops in which to browse. There is also an excellent local butcher (open on Fridays and Saturdays). Lydney (10 minutes drive away) has a Tesco and Co-op and all the shops and services you'd expect from a mid sized town.

  • Świetna lokalizacja dla łatwego dostępu do udogodnień leśnych. Świetne małe znalezisko, z cudownymi gospodarzami, którzy z przyjemnością pomogą uczynić twój pobyt super. Polecam także wieczorny spacer dzika, 10 minut jazdy samochodem.

  • Peregrine Hideaway to cudowna wiejska chata położona tuż obok lasu w Ruspidge.

I can try and help with anything you need to know and make tea or coffee any time!!
I can add one small bed for a child but flat not toddler friendly because of stairs , no gates and garden very wild and steep. Babies no problem.
The neighbour is beautiful, full of trees , walks , rivers a d not far from Welsh border, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. Horse racing.. Chepstow, Cheltenham not too far.

Danby Cottage is located in the Forest of Dean. So close to nature there's a good chance of seeing wild deer right outside the front door! Forest walks, parks, cycle paths, activity centres, craft centres, pubs and places to eat are all within walking distance. After a long day you'll be able to sit back and relax in the garden in the summer, or by the log fire in the winter! Our extended cottage has been designed specifically for family living with a large living dining room.
The living dining room has a wonderful pitched ceiling and log burning stove for those winter evenings. Our downstairs and garden are completely accessible to wheelchair users. The cottage is surrounded by forest and there are lovely walks in all directions. The kitchen is well equipped for keen cooks and has a lowered worktop for wheelchair users or young cooks who want to help! The cottage was extended in 2007 and great care was taken to make the whole building sustainable. We won a gold for green tourism which we still maintain.
The cottage is in a very peaceful and quiet setting. The area has a very interesting agricultural and industrial history of which there are many remnants to visit. Puzzle wood was once Roman ironworks, Hopewell coal colliery still welcomes visitors, clear well caves was once the source of ochre used for painting and the Forestry Commission have done much to enhance their sites for visitors, including Go Ape and the Sculpture trail. The Speech house is now a hotel with good grub but was once the Verderers Courthouse.

A detached, clean & comfortable private escape for you to unwind & enjoy the views over an old perry pear orchard managed for wildlife. Neighbourhood of similar smallholdings & valley farmland with direct access to forest walks & perfect for stargazing. Friendly sheep & our pet alpacas Badger & Bracken may be grazing in the field nearby.

We live further along the track and are on hand to help but equally we’re respectful of your privacy allowing you to completely relax and unwind. Open-plan living area with a well equipped modern kitchen area. Patio doors plus full length windows to take advantage of the far reaching countryside views & for wildlife watching. The bedroom has a king-size bed, with a quality feather-effect duvet & pillows (suitable for vegans). Modern en-suite shower room with plentiful hot water & good water pressure. SPRING Wake to the sound of birdsong & take short stroll from the cottage & you’re in beech woodlands carpeted with scented bluebells & natural babbling springs. A badger will often pass by on its evening route (dependant on the time of year). A small herd of family owned friendly Jacob sheep (some have been hand reared) are usually in the field next to the cottage. They rotationally graze with other neighbours so we can’t always guarantee they’ll be there. Our inquisitive pet alpacas Badger & Bracken are usually around. Facilities:- - The bathroom is a modern shower room with a large corner shower with plentiful hot water & good water pressure (no bath). - TV with built in DVD player - Drawer full of board games, playing cards, DVDs etc. - Books, local maps and guides - Cafetiere (no coffee maker) - Microwave, double oven & grill, dishwasher, washer/dryer, freestanding fridge/freezer. - Blankets for outdoor use in the evenings should you wish to sit outside longer to watch the wildlife and stargaze (kept in the monks bench). - Cosy real wood burner, first basket of logs free of charge. A peaceful valley of scattered cottages, smallholdings and farmland outside the settlement boundary of Mitcheldean, in open countryside, on the woodland edge of the Forest of Dean. The area is rich in wildlife and the Gloucestershire Way and Wysis Way footpaths run opposite. St Antony’s Well can be found in beech woodlands with bluebells at the end of the lane. The large village of Mitcheldean is within a 20 minute walk where there is a Coop, convenience store, butchers, pharmacy, florist, library, takeaways, automated petrol station, car repair etc. The local brewery, Bespoke Brewery opens their brewery tap bar most weekends. Jolter Press, a local cider & perry maker has a bar that’s usually open on a Friday evening. Both are situated in The Mews, Mitcheldean.

We are doing what we can in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This means we are only taking bookings through the Air BnB COVID-19 scheme to offer accommodation to responders until the end of June. If you are a responder, our space will offer you a safe, peaceful bolt hole 12 miles from Gloucester Royal Hospital and 17 from Cheltenham. Plenty of outdoor garden space and many walks on the doorstep for daily exercise.
Wren Cottage could be for you if you are looking to find somewhere away from it all surrounded by nature and birdsong. It is very peaceful here. There is an outside seating area that we are making available to you, although this maybe shared by another responder and social distancing will therefore apply. There is a separate laundry area with washing machine, drier, iron and ironing board. We are making this area available by appointment only to enable us to keep people safe in shared areas. Wren Cottage is a stone forester’s cottage with cosy lounge, wood burner and a well equipped kitchen on the ground floor. A winding staircase leads to a bedroom with a comfy double bed and an ensuite shower room. There is limited storage. Plenty of hangars, and some open shelving. Luggage can also be stored under the metal framed bed. I could provide storage boxes for you. We are currently able to provide loo rolls and plenty of antibacterial soap, but like many, we cannot get hold of any hand sanitiser Notes: Access via a single track unmade road with some potholes Parking is 30 metres UPHILL from the cottage
We have a guest feedback form and one of the questions we ask is "What did you like most about your stay?" The answer is almost always the beautiful location and the peace and quiet. There are many footpaths all over the Forest of Dean and you can access this network from the cottage door. There is woodland within a short distance, and there are lots of small streams and brooks, so the sound of water is often what you will hear on a walk; that and the birdsong. We are on the sunny side of the valley and almost at the top of the hill so you can sit in the sun in the evening with a glass of wine, and admire the views. The penalty for this however is that most walks from the cottage end with a 10 minute uphill walk. We have few neighbours and there are more animals here than people - 2 pigs, one donkey, sheep, hens, and lots of stunning horses. (These our our neighbours' animals not ours). he Forest of Dean is an extensive area of ancient woodland stretching from Mitcheldean in the East as far west as the River Wye and south to the banks of the Severn. The region is rich in flora and fauna, and is beautiful in springtime when the woods are adorned with successive carpets of wild daffodils (Newent), bluebells and wood anenomes. Early morning or dusk are the best times of day to spot some of the wildlife including fallow deer and wild boar. For avid bird lovers the Forest of Dean is a joy, with the possibility of spotting the goshawks at New Fancy View, the peregrine falcons at Symmonds Yat Rock, dippers nesting in the banks of a stream or the pied flycatchers which make their nests in the hollowed out trunk of an oak tree. In summer be sure to look out for the many and varied butterflies which reside in the Forest including the white admiral, purple hairstreak and sliver washed fritillary. The Forest is an undulating landscape and your walks may well be accompanied by the sound of a stream babbling along a valley bottom as well as strident birdsong. There are many views to be admired from the hill tops across Forest and rivers, towards the Malvern Hills or to the Welsh Mountains across the border. Try May Hill for the best vantage point over the Forest!

Our cosy yurt is situated in a secluded corner of our large garden, which has access to the Forest of Dean. The yurt has a wood burner and is insulated with thick yak's wool - perfect for colder nights. There is a very comfy double and a pull out double sofa bed which is great for kids. A shower room, with electric shower, hot running water, and a flushing toilet is 20 meters from the yurt, as is a small kitchenette with hot water and power. Outside there is a fire for cooking.
We are in a quiet hamlet a mile from the nearest village, and from the yurt you can walk directly on forestry tracks into the Forest of Dean. All the forest has to offer is a walk or short drive away. The yurt looks over rolling farmland and is nestled in a quiet corner, surrounded by trees and mossy ground.
Peaceful, quiet, and perfect for star gazing, and literally situated on the South Eastern edge of the Forest of Dean. We have regular visits from deer, owls, and voles, as well as the usual squirrel and small garden birds. Sometimes you can hear wild boar snuffling in the field next to the yurt.
