This apt. is one of my favorite spaces. We used to live here and I think you will find it to be a relaxing and comfortable place to spend your time in Muncie. We've provided the basics so that it can be your home away from home: fully functioning kitchen, coffee options, hi speed internet, towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, bedding, roku with tv, and board games. 1/2 mile to shops & dining or a walk along the river, 1 mile to BSU. Close the day grilling out while you watch the gorgeous sunset.
This is an upstairs apt. with 24 steps to climb. Once you have ascended you will be greeted with a beautiful, open view of the sky that you can enjoy from your porch, one of my favorite features of the apt. space. A natural gas grill is furnished as well as outdoor seating that could add the right atmosphere for some good hang-out time or just a little bit of peace and quiet.
There is a lock box entry with a code so you can let yourself in quickly when you arrive.
Eat-in kitchen seats 4 and has a full size stove top, oven & refrigerator. It's also supplied with a microwave, toaster oven, regular and Kuerig coffee makers plus coffee, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder & lard(of course) to make cooking easier for travelers. Dinnerware and kidware provided, to-go coffee cups too. A booster seat and tray is available for toddlers.
Living Room comfortably seats 5 and you could easily bring in a kitchen chair or 2 for your dinner guests. It has a moderate size flat screen tv with Roku. The couch is comfortable as a bed, fairly firm and a person who was about 5'7 could stretch out completely. There is also room to put a queen size air mattress on the floor. We keep 2 in the closet if you should need them.
Bedroom has a Queen size bed and also room on the floor for another queen size air-mattress. We have a pack n' play available for little kiddos as well. Plenty of closet space to hang your clothes in.
Bathroom has a tub and shower, comfy towels, shamp/cond, body wash, good lighting and mirrors.
There is complementary washer, dryer and detergent in your apt. available for your vacationing needs.
We do not have actual parking spaces on our property but there is free street parking at all times . You may pull up to unload before you park.
The apt. is in a 4-plex unit house and there are other friendly tenants living below and beside you.
Old West End has some of the oldest houses in Muncie, some real gems. This house was built in 1890, although you can't tell from the outside, some of the interior woodwork can attest to that. A few houses have the old ginger bread, manicured look. But you can also see the opposite, sometimes right next door. Some of the houses are rundown and sketchy but others are great.
We love to walk or bike downtown but we are always aware and take precautions to be safe. The Caffeinery is one of our closest and best loved destinations. A couple more blocks and you will reach the downtown YMCA, a regular hang-out place for our family. Canan Commons, an outdoor green space and amphitheater is across the street from that with regular free events throughout the year. If you circle back to the house you can swing by The Fickle Peach bar or down Walnut street where there are several delish. eateries as well as shops and bars, and even an organic grocery market and cafe, The Farm Stand.
We love to walk or bike over to the Cardinal Greenway trail that runs along the White River which is about 1/4 mile away from the apt.
It's great to be centrally located and close to so many things. BSU is about a mile away. The Hospital is about 1.5 miles away. ....And, of course, there's Walmart, Meijer, and the shopping mall, but who would go there on their vacation?! (Wink, wink).
We always venture into our neighborhood with caution, especially in the evening, this isn't the suburbs with a gate at the entrance. Our neighborhood has character and people that we love and that's what we love the most. I used to say that Muncie is like a black hole that will suck you in. While that affect may still be true it's way to dark and I prefer to say: it sneaks up on you and becomes your home.
