Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are all within an hour's drive. Local events include the Royal International Air Tattoo in July, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Cheltenham Festival in March, the Cotswold Show in July, Cirencester's Phoenix Festival (family music weekend) in August, and WOMAD world music festival in July. Westonbirt Arboretum holds autumn colour events, and Colesbourne Park holds snowdrops walks in the winter.

In our beautiful Cotswold garden, wind up through the rockery to this sheltered hillside spot, with its very own private deck and seating area, offering gorgeous views to the surrounding village, nestled in idyllic countryside. This light and airy, but warm and cosy studio has a super comfortable kingsize bed, a desk and a separate stylish modern bathroom, a lovely deep bath, and a very efficient shower attachment if needed. You will be living under the eaves, so headspace is a little limited.
You are welcome to potter about our large garden.
We are just 2 minutes walk from the Seven Tuns Pub, which is a quintessential Cotswold country pub, with good food and roaring log fires - this is a great place to while away an afternoon or have an evening out without any need to drive. We are situated in the most beautiful countryside with miles of footpaths. We have a beautiful church and a Roman villa in the village and a farm shop that serves an all day ‘bottomless’ breakfast. Nearby Cirencester has great independent shops and a Waitrose. Also highly recommended for food is The Village Pub at Barnsley and The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. There is also a village taxi service, if you need a lift home. Needless to say, we are right on the doorstep of all the well known cotswold villages and beauty spots, so this is an excellent location from which to tour around.

Beautiful 18th-century Beehive Cottage, in the Cotswold village of Poulton, sleeps 6 guests across one king-size, one double and one twin bedroom. The cottage has a very well- equipped kitchen, a spacious living room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, a separate Snug with a work area, a spacious family bathroom with a bath and a downstairs shower room/utility. Outside is a large, pretty garden and off-street parking for two cars, with free on street parking readily available.
Introduction As you pull onto the gravelled drive at Beehive Cottage, in the village of Poulton, you’ll immediately feel a sense of serenity as the history and beauty of the cottage greets you. It is an archetypal Cotswold property, built in the 1760’s with Victorian additions – the type of home you see featured in property magazines and wish you could stay! The owner has renovated Beehive Cottage very sympathetically, maintaining the traditional character of the cottage yet providing every modern convenience with a contemporary but stunning interior design – including richly pigmented, eco-friendly Farrow & Ball paints - plus everything you need for a thoroughly pampered, self-catered Cotswold holiday. Beehive Cottage’s front door is framed by wisteria and passionflower, with thick swathes of lavender in the garden’s raised beds, attracting butterflies and bees in the summertime. French doors open from the Kitchen-Dining area to an outdoor seating area, which wraps round the cottage to further seating and a barbecue. Steps leads up to a lawn, with mature planting, and a second large table, where you can sit and enjoy the last rays of evening sunshine looking back towards the cottage. The traditional character of Beehive Cottage, including a stunning inglenook fireplace (with a secret stone staircase behind winding up to Bedroom 3), original oak beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls combines fabulously with the carefully chosen modern amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen with 6-ring hob, a shower/utility room, a family bathroom, WiFi, a Smart TV, Bose speaker, a Snug with work area (for guests who have to check in to the office) and exquisite, decorations throughout the cottage that have been hand-painted by the owner. Poulton is a small but thriving Cotswold village with a traditional British pub, The Falcon Inn, serving British modern food, and featuring locally brewed cask ales. The village has a church (St Michael’s and All Angels) and a children's playground and playing field, called ‘Englands’, directly across the lane from the cottage. A traditional summer fete is held each year on the first Sunday after the August Bank Holiday. The closest food shops to the cottage are in Fairford, approximately 3 miles away (see ‘Local Amenities’). Two sofas and an armchair provide comfy seating for six guests to watch the Smart TV and enjoy the wood burning stove, while a window seat is the perfect place to perch and read a book. During renovation work, a stone stairway was unearthed behind the fireplace, leading up to the twin bedroom; providing a fascinating glimpse into the cottage’s past. A lock is provided on the twin bedroom door to prevent younger guests in that bedroom from using the staircase.) The bedroom is furnished with bedside chests and lamps, a corner hanging rail, and a lovely window seat overlooking the garden’s outdoor seating area. A door at the back of the room opens to the steep, secret staircase down to the Living Room. This door can be bolted to stop young children using it. Bedroom Two Cross the landing to Beehive’s king-size bedroom, with its soft-yellow walls and accents of pink and red. Guests can watch the world go by, sitting in the window seat while reading a book from the wide selection of novels from the bedroom’s bookcase. The room is furnished with a sink-in KING bed, half-height wardrobe, a bedside chest of drawers with a reading light, and an impressive mirror. Hairdryer in drawer. Bedroom One At the end of the landing, up two stairs, is the master bedroom, affectionately known by the owner as the Butterfly Room, which features a sink-in, double-size bed and walls decorated with beautifully hand-painted butterflies. The room is furnished with a handsome, cherry wood chest of drawers and dressing table, bedside tables with reading lamps and a hanging rail with a shoe rack. With windows on three sides, overlooking the garden and the road below, the master bedroom is bright and light, but has exquisite hand-made, heavy curtains and a blind to ensure a really good night’s sleep. Family Bathroom Located next to Bedroom One, the Family Bathroom is practical yet exudes relaxation at the same time, with its painted wooden floor, half-panelled soft-grey walls and an intricately hand-painted partridge, complimented by a series of antique birds’ egg paintings. The bathroom features a full-length bath, with luxury bubble bath provided, a toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Outside Beehive Cottage has a charming garden with a lawn and a gravelled area with seating and parking for two cars. Wisteria and passionflower frame the front door and climb up to the bedroom windows, while in the summertime lavender blooms fill the air with their scent, attracting bees, butterflies and birds. Step through the French doors in the Kitchen to the outdoor seating area, with its oblong-shaped table, seating for eight and charcoal barbecue. • Świetne miejsce na długi weekend, aby wziąć udział w weselu w Stone Barn i odwiedzić pobliskie Burford. Przestronny pokój z pięknym widokiem na pola. Venetia bardzo szybko odpowiedziała na wszelkie pytania.

  • Najpiękniejsze miejsce na oderwanie się od życia. Idealny weekendowy wypad z domu.

Mieliśmy wspaniały dzień w Bourton On The Water w muzeum motoryzacji ...

  • Ciche, komfortowe studio w uroczym, zacisznym miejscu.

Our Oak-framed Annexe offers luxury accommodation for up to 3 Adults or 2 Adults and one child (plus an extra travel cot). Located within a local Organic farm estate, and surrounded by ancient woodland. The space is very comfortable and the space has been cleverly designed to accomodate everything you need for your stay. HOWEVER, if you are looking for somewhere really spacious (i.e. a Victorian Old Rectory with high ceilings and grand rooms, this isn't it!). About 99% of our guests are incredibly happy here and you can see that reflected in the reviews. BUT, you do get 1% who don't bother to read all the information and look at the photos beforehand. We would prefer to avoid negative reviews as this has a big effect on our overall ratings and it takes months and months of 5Star reviews to try to amend the damage done by that one slightly disappointed guest who didn't do their homework . Our accommodation provides the opportunity to escape, unwind and enjoy being thoroughly immersed in the natural beauty of the Cotswolds. There is a beautiful bluebell and wild flower wood at the end of our drive. A round route though the woodland and fields is good for running (3 miles) or walking. There is an abundance of interesting history and cultural goings on in the market town of Cirencester (originally the Roman capital of England, called Corinium). There is an impressive Parish Church in the centre, fantastic shopping, restaurants, cafes etc all within 5 mins drive. In the opposite direction, also within 5 mins drive from the property, is the award winning Organic Farm Shop & Cafe. Delicious food is served there six days a week (closed on Mondays). Other places to visit: Chedworth Roman Villa (5 mins drive up the Stow Road) Cotswold Water Parks (15 mins drive) Cotswold Wildlife Park (25 mins drive) Cotswold Farm Park (Adam Henson's farm from Countryfile - 25 mins) Cheltenham Spa (Cheltenham Races, brilliant shopping and attractive architecture - 25 mins) Stow-on-the-Wold (20 mins) Burford (25 mins) Tetbury (20 mins) Westonbirt Arboretum (25 mins)
Secluded location in woodland surroundings, within an organic farm estate.

This beautiful, one-bedroom, 1-bath, 17th Century bothy, originally built to house cattle and a herdsman, has been lovingly converted into a luxurious and romantic bolthole for 2. The Bothy sits in the grounds of Arlington House, in the heart of the Cotswolds, and includes many extra welcoming touches that will delight you and make your stay that little bit special. Just a few minutes' walk from a local pub, with a roaring log fire and garden, and Arlington Row Cottages and 10 miles from Burford
As you pull through the wrought iron gates and up the driveway of Arlington House, a stone’s throw from the popular village of Bibury, you’ll see the Bothy straight ahead. At first view the Bothy seems like an unimposing Cotswold stone barn. However, the moment you open the front door you’ll immediately realise you have chosen a luxurious and perfectly proportioned Cotswold bolthole for two. This old stone bothy was originally used for cattle over the centuries and has recently been converted. It now offers a light, bright and stylish accommodation for two. Downstairs is an open plan, elegant sitting room with a well-equipped corner kitchen. A spiral, contemporary staircase leads upstairs to a beautiful bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Outside, you are provided with a garden bench at the Bothy’s front door, where you can sit and enjoy a peaceful beginning or end to your day in the Cotswolds. Full Property Description Ground Floor Living-Dining-Kitchen Area Step through the Bothy’s front door into the delightful, elegantly furnished, open plan living area, with polished limestone floor tiles, a comfy sofa and smart TV. A perfectly equipped corner kitchen, with a fridge, toaster, kettle, gas hob and oven, is at the far end of the room, while a bistro table is provided for guests to dine at, with a window seat providing one of the seats. (Trays are provided should you wish to eat sitting on the sofa.) A fabulous, antique wall-sized mirror reflects light into the room, making this open plan living area beautifully bright. A narrow, contemporary spiral staircase winds upstairs to: Upstairs Bedroom Simple elegance best describes the Bothy’s luxury ensuite bedroom, with its vaulted and exposed beams, grey and white colour scheme and combination of antique and contemporary furniture. The room is furnished with a king-size bed, reading lamp, a wardrobe and drawer, a small sofa, luggage rack and full-length mirror. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are also provided for guests. The door in the bedroom that leads to external stairs was originally used by the herdsman who lived above his cattle. The morning sun streams through the door’s window, which can be enjoyed while lying in bed, but curtains are provided should you prefer to keep the light out for a lie in! (This door should only be used in case of fire. Please leave the keys in the door at all times.) Bathroom The elegant ensuite bathroom has a large walk-in shower, with handheld and overhead showerheads, a contemporary wash basin, a dual flush W.C. and a tall heated towel rail. A bench to the side of the front door is provided for guests’ use – a lovely pace to sit and contemplate the day ahead or the day just gone by.
Arlington was first mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and was for centuries a village known for cloth making. Arlington village and Bibury village sit side-by-side, separated by the River Coln, a tributary of the River Thames. The village’s honey coloured cottages are what many visitors regard as quintessential Cotswold, with many visitors making a beeline to the famous Arlington Row cottages, once depicted on the inside cover of every UK passport, and just a minute’s walk from the Bothy. Arlington was also the ancestral birthplace of John Custis II, who emigrated to the Colony of Virginia and named his Virginian mansion "Arlington" after the village. Arlington Mansion was abandoned, but the name was used again by his great-great-grandson, George Washington Parke Custis (the grandson of Martha Washington and step-grandson and adopted son of George Washington, the first President of the United States), as the name for Arlington Estate on the south shore of the Potomac River near what is now Washington, D.C. Today it is known as Arlington National Cemetery. The 19th-century artist and craftsman William Morris called Bibury "the most beautiful village in England" – he probably meant Arlington too!
