Little Pudding Cottage is a beautiful example of the classic country hideaway. Nestled in the Welsh countryside, just into the Cambrian Mountains, it enjoys the splendour of nature and peaceful calm of times past. The accommodation is full of character and original charm, while maintaining the modern comforts of home. With its own garden, this former shepherd's cottage is surrounded by rugged hills and an unspoilt rural landscape at the very end of a single-track road. The perfect rural retreat!
The detached cottage is very remote and you really do feel like you are getting away from it all. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep where you are very unlikely to meet another person. The conservatory gives you spectacular views whatever the weather, whilst the summerhouse is the perfect place to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
The cottage is surrounded by farmland and 17,500 acres of National Trust Moorland and so totally private and secluded.

Cozy wooden cabin in the heart of Wales set amongst the forests of beautiful Abergwesyn. Great base for adventurers, walkers, bikers and cyclists or as a romantic getaway. Single room wooden cabin with outside under cover kitchen facilities. Separate toilet, sink and hot water shower in nearby barn. The cabin is located near to the owner's cottage, but is very private, and has it's own garden area with space for an extra tent. No other properties are visible from the cabin. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement, and must be kept on a lead at all times outside the cabin. The cabin is unheated during the summer months, early autumn and late spring, but there are plenty of blankets and hot water bottles to keep guests warm on chilly evenings. Interaction with host is as required by the guests. Stunning scenery, wildlife, wild swimming, mountain walking or biking, fabulous drives, and starry starry nights. Excellent pub food three miles away. The cabin is rural so a car, bike or bicycles are a necessity. Private parking is available.

  • Uwielbialiśmy nasz pobyt w ten weekend. Nie mogliśmy prosić o lepsze trio. Wszystko było wspaniałe, od samej kabiny po niesamowite widoki i spacery. Dało nam tyle spokoju, samotności i spokoju. Będąc miłośnikami przyrody, było to doskonałe pod każdym względem. Janine była wspaniałym gospodarzem i naprawdę podobały nam się walijskie ciasta. Na pewno wrócimy. Dziękuję bardzo.

Tyncornel is a great little hostel in splendid Cambrian mountain scenery, at the head of the beautiful Doethie valley. There is excellent walking and cycling right from the front door: green rolling mountains, narrow twisting valleys that provide an ever-changing view . You may walk all day without meeting anyone. The hostel has plenty of character. It's the most isolated hostel in Wales, and it provides a simple but comfortable welcome - see the photos!
It's a former Victorian farmhouse with stone walls and tile floors. Sleeping is in single-sex dormitories. Bedding is provided.

Mid Wales gives you everything from majestic mountains and ancient monuments to extreme sports. Llangammarch Wells is a village in the parish of Irfon Valley in Powys, mid Wales, within the historic County of Brecnockshire. The village is on the Heart of Wales train line, which connects this idyllic hide away to the rest of the world and it lies on Route 43 of the National Cycle Network. It is the smallest of the spa towns of mid Wales, alongside Llanwrtyd Wells, Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells. There are two hotels, one houses the local pub and restaurant, a Post Office/village shop, St Cadmarch’s church and the Nazareth Methodist Chapel. Cartws is a converted former carthouse, centrally heated, but with a woodburner as well for cosy nights in by the fire. It is located in the beautiful upper Towy valley, a mecca for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. Cartws is ideal for couples, small groups of friends and families.
Cartws is a roomy comfortable space, with oil central heating and a toasty woodburner, wooden floors, a spacious kitchen witha tiled floor that is the hub of the cottage, three double bedrooms (one ensuite), a further bathroom with bath and shower. (Initial fuel included, charged per basket afterwards). There is a private garden behind the barn and a wild flower meadow in the paddock at the side, full of oxe eye daisies and knapweed in the summer.
The upper Towy valley has a dramatic landscape and has been described as a 'Little Switzerland'. The area is rich in wildlife, it was the last redoubt of the Red Kite before its recovery and Red Squirrels roam the conifer forests that surround the village. It is a walkers paradise, with bird reserves, woodland trust land, and Mynydd Mallaen a large upland common you will be spoilt for choice of walks. The area is also rich in history and a cave hidden in Dinas bird reserve further up the valley was the hiding place of Twm Sion Cati, known as the Welsh Robin Hood!

The market town of Tregaron, on the western edge of the Cambrian Mountains is a gateway to many sites of natural and historic importance in West Wales. All roads lead to the market square which is surrounded by characterful buildings including the 13th-century Talbot Hotel, an old drovers’ inn, which supposedly has an elephant buried in its grounds. The popular Welsh Gold Centre, where the world-famous Rhiannon jewellery is made, includes a Welsh craft shop, gallery and tearoom. In the town square, a statue commemorates Henry Richard the MP for Merthyr Tydfil who was a founder and first secretary of the League of Nations, fore-runner to the modern United Nations. The Kite Centre and Museum just out of the square on the road to Llanddewi Brefi, has information on Red Kites and other birds of the area, local history, costume, Cors Caron and a reconstructed Victorian school room. We are situated oposite Caron Stores, a friendly local shop serving a variety of local produce and home made treats. There is also a Spar grocery shop with Post Office and cash machine in the town square just a two minute walk away, here you will also find a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway, or for finer dining visit Y Talbolt in the market square or The Hungry Ram in Penuch just a 15 min drive away.

Romantic & spacious hayloft with a cosy vibe in a rambling C19th stone barn with a bird's eye view of the countryside. Cwtch up in front of the log burner on the balcony with a glass of something special & enjoy the views & stars of the Cambrian Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park. Stunning location, 70 acres to explore, walks from the door to hidden valleys, mountain streams, waterfalls & pub. Perfect spot to read, write, paint, relax and enjoy the romance of the restless Welsh sky.
The loft is a very special space which just has such a great vibe. It's tucked away from it all, with a birds eye view over the surrounding hills and mountains. Climb the stone staircase up the outside of the barn and walk in to find an airy open plan living space complete with a 1920s gramaphone with a selection of 78s for you to play...we guarantee it will put huge smile on your face. The well equipped kitchen has beautiful wooden worktops, Belfast sink, electric cooker, dishwasher and stellar pans. There's two Chesterfield chairs, a flat screen TV and WiFi. The extraordinary double sized cabin bed - dubbed the nest by some of our guests - has a double height ceiling and stained glass window, thick curtains is the perfect spot to cwtch up and discuss the next day's plans. Please note entry to the bed is just from one side and if you prefer a larger bed with entry from both sides, please look at our other properties (stream side cottage & New York). The eclectic country house bathroom has an enamel bath, shower fitting over and what can only be described as a throne. We believe it was 'foraged' from the local mansion. Hand painted wallpaper and reclaimed wooden floors, with some lovely vintage and antique pieces throughout. There's a large balcony with fabulous mountain views - the perfect spot for sunning yourself and later on stargazing in this dark skies area. Or you can paint the beautiful views or write your new best seller. Wrap up in the blankets and cushions in front of a crackling fire and watch shooting stars and the Milky Way with a glass of something special. The Loft was originally converted by the previous artist owner so that she could keep an eye on her mare when she was due to foal, and there is a stained glass window in the bed overlooking the barn below. There are no longer any animals kept in the rest of the barn, so you do have it to yourselves. Our guests comment about how quiet this place is, so it's the perfect place to chill out somewhere different. Follow us on social media, Insta & FB @cambrian_escapes for more pics and info about our location.
This is a truly special place. Expansive skies, mountains, ancient woodlands, rivers, waterfalls and outstanding views. Loads of space to explore, play or just hideaway. It's a dark skies area where you can enjoy the Milky Way, planets and numerous shooting stars. Walk to the local pub. Explore the Cambrian Mountains & Brecon Beacons National Park or just soak up the atmosphere and recharge your batteries. Within 45 minutes you can be in Dylan Thomas's atmospheric Laugharne or on the beautiful beaches of Llansteffan or Cefn Sidan. The fantastic harbour towns of Aberaeron, New Quay and Tenby are less than an hour's drive. Plentiful castles and some of the most famous of Wales' gardens are just a short drive away. There are plenty of local festivals all year round and lots of great places to eat and to buy some of the great food that is produced in Carmarthenshire.
