Lone Oak - Circa 1820

Welcome to Lone Oak! This historical property in Thornbury Township is minutes from Cheyney University, the oldest HBCU in the country. 15 minutes from Wilmington, DE and 25 minutes from Philadelphia, the property cleverly hides its urban proximity. The stone barn was built by Quakers in the late 18th century. The 5.5 acre property has lovely views and a tranquil setting, but is close to West Chester, Wilmington, and the Main Line. All three bedrooms are on the second floor of the guest house.

Escape to this private guest cottage on a historic Chester County farm dating to the late 1700s. Our pool closes for the season Sept 9, so come enjoy these last chances to swim. Set on 10 rolling acres, minutes from West Chester University, downtown West Chester, and Rt. 202, pass a circa-1820s stone barn on your way in. Relax by the fenced pool overlooking 100+ acres where the Battle of Brandywine was fought, wander the orchard, or say hi to our chickens. Longwood Gardens is 15 minutes away.
