A community boat ramp is conveniently located behind house and the main lake is only a 15 min boat ride away. Only a short drive to the beaches of Rough River State Park. Plenty of sleeping area with King and Queen bedrooms and a Bunk room with 5 twin beds. The oversized garage will store a boat or kayaks while you visit. Featured twice in the Courier-Journal, this property is uniquely one-of-kind and boasts a story even the Louisville Landmarks Commission couldn’t deny; which is why they awarded the property an historical plaque in 2019! The original newspaper article from 1976, the previous owners stated “The neighborhood legend about this house is that it just floated up the river in the ‘37 flood and somebody just built a foundation under it! They call it ‘the shanty boat’!

Located on beautiful Brashears Creek in the heart of Bourbon Country, this loft style cedar cabin makes a great central location to visit some local distilleries and wineries. It is also a great place to stay for anyone who might be in the area for a horse show or interested in antique shopping along Shelbyville's historical Main Street. My personal favorite thing to do at the cabin is enjoy the creek. The water level fluctuates significantly depending on the amount of rainfall received.
