It is at about 5 km from Lucca,medieval town, birth place of the opera composer Puccini. You can hike or bike ride on the river park, go to the seaside,only 20km away. The building is around 500 years old, and is thought to be at the very heart of the original Cardoso, with the village growing around this centre over the next few centuries.
