A quirky comfortable cottage though not suitable for the disabled as there are steps. Centrally positioned for visits to Durham, with its magnificent cathedral and castle, Newcastle , Barnard castle, Hamsterly forest, with its great walks and fun for the children River walks and trails locally, the river is 3 minutes walk away , Tunstall reservoir, Beamish museum and Auckland castle amongst many places to visit within a half hour drive. Local pubs, takeaway and restaurant within the village.

WINDY HALL - Secluded luxury with stunning views
Windy Hall is somewhere very special. High in the Pennines it offers one of the most magnificent views in England. You may want to stay and enjoy the peace & quiet, but we are ideally placed for trips west to the Lake District, east to the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and north to Hadrian's Wall. It's unusual in that you have to walk the last 240 metres to the house, though we will bring up your luggage in our 4WD. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!
