Off Grid Converted Sugar Shack

This little rustic OFF GRID converted sugar shack is perfect for a quiet getaway. There are 2 solar panels that feed the lighting and water pump; limited, non-drinking water for the 2 sinks (summer only); and compostable toilet. There is no shower, no oven and no fridge. A cooler, an urn of drinking water and firewood are provided. The shack is on our 35 acre property, with our home 500ft down the lane. You will have access to our property to walk through the maple forest and wildflower meadow.

This hike-in, solar cabin has it's own private hiking trail(100m, steep hill) and private parking area. The trail winds it's way up to your private view overlooking Golden Lake. You will feel tucked away in this cozy spot surrounded by mixed oak forest, sitting atop Canadian Shield rock formations. Our guest house is a cozy log cabin with three floors. It is the original homesteader cabin to our property, revived and restored with care. Local paintings by Ottawa Valley landscape artist Angela St. Jean displayed throughout the cabin feature lakes, rivers, and natural places and spaces that surround us.

Beautiful lakefront cottage on quiet lake.

Our clean and cozy cottage has a beautiful sun porch and comfortably sleeps four people. We are situated on a quiet lake with great swimming and fishing. A paddle boat is available for free. Just 1 1/2 hours outside of Ottawa. We are only 20 minutes away from the award winning Whitetail Golf Course. There are two kayaks available for rent for $35/day each.
