The Roosevelt

I built this cabin in 1989, this property has a lot of history, it was part of the land that my father in law acquired from the Roosevelt program, I believe that was in 1932, he was one of the few original settlers. we have 25 acres we are in process of making walking trail that will wind back and forth through the entire property. will be a good chance of seeing all kind of wildlife including deer turkey, squirrels and all kind of birds. The farm is located approximately 45 minutes from the Talladega Race Track and Anniston (home to the Cheaha Challenge bicycle race),Talladega National Forest 10 minutes, Tallapoosa River and Lake Wedowee, 281 Scenic Byway, Scenic Hwy 49 that leads to US Military Park at Horse Shoe Bend.

A short drive to Callaway Gardens! Few people even know it exists except the owners whose family has occupied this land since 1835 . We are an hour South of Atlanta. The cabin is not primitive. It has all the modern convenience sitting on a 20 ac tract with bigger tracts of land adjoining. I have a five person sleep accommodation but if you are a larger family I can make an allowance. It is a very safe area and we are available if you need us.

This enchanting retreat features a master nook with 1 king bed, a corner space for the kiddos to share a fun triple bunk, and 1 incredibly comfy pull out sofa bed in the glass ceiling sunroom, perfect for a cozy getaway. We are 25 miles to Callaway Gardens and less than 30 miles to Ft Moore.

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway from the city to enjoy some quiet time or a small campfire, this is the place! There is plenty of room for 1 or 2 families but still has a cozy vibe. Enjoy the large deck with a view of a lake or the side yard with fire pit. Close to FDR state park, the Flint River and Warm Springs Georgia.
