Nestled in the heart of Wanaka, Walnut on Russell features three unique alpine-style cabins, surrounded by towering, mature trees—including our magnificent 100-year-old walnut tree. The cabins are thoughtfully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay, ensuring you’ll feel right at home. If you do feel like venturing out, you’re just a short stroll away from all that Wanaka has to offer, from the lakefront to the town centre, brimming with restaurants, bars, and shops.

The cosy cabin with stunning view and private spa

This adorable and very warm winter cabin, with stunning views and spa, is part of our 25-acre property, located behind The Lookout Lodge, at the manager's residence. This rustic, cute cabin has a queen bed, and a separate private bathroom with an outside hot shower house just next to the cabin. There is also a private spa where you can enjoy amazing star gazing as you soak! You’ll love this cabin because of its unique location, awesome shower, stunning scenery, and taste of kiwi farm life.

Alpine Cabin in Wanaka

Relax in our cosy cabin just outside Wanaka’s town centre which is still in walking distance. Perfect for couples or young families, enjoy your morning coffee on the deck and listen to the brids, BBQ area for the evening and star watching is a must. We have some friendly animals on the land (Cat, Dog, Chickens, Turtles), but there only part of your stay if you like. The cabin is next to our home, and we’re always happy to help with local tips for Wanaka area but also give you your privacy.

Beautifully crafted unit

This new unit consists of a living area, bedroom, bathroom, living and kitchenette. King size bed. Unlimited wi-fi, a smart tv/NetFlix. Basic kitchen amenities, no cooking facilities. The unit is located under the main house on the owner's residence, entrance at the side of their property. Quiet, private, and comfortable. Access to the cabin is via a concrete path on the left side of the main house. Post photos, there has been new carpet laid, and new benchtops installed throughout.

Mt Iron Eco Cabin

Kick back and relax in this serene, stylish space, hidden up a long tree lined drive. Enjoy the private setting among native birds and trees yet just a 5 minute drive to Lake Wānaka and central cafes and shops. Perfect for a couple, we have a dedicated parking space, undercover storage for bikes and snow gear, a herb garden, washing machine and a sunny covered deck to make your holiday easy. We also have an adjacent one bedroom studio if you're travelling with friends or family.

The Old Mill

The cabin is a bright, private one bedroom free standing cabin on our property. Full bathroom and kitchenette (microwave, jug, toaster, Nespresso coffee maker, mini fridge etc) sorry no stove. BBQ grill for your use. Stunning views of the mountains in a new neighbourhood. Short 5 minute drive to downtown Wanaka. 5 minute walk to local restaurant/bar. Wifi and Netflix available on Samsung 32 inch TV. Heat pump for heating in winter/cooling in the summer.

Mountain Cabin - central, cosy and cute with views

Cute mountain cabin nestled at the base of iconic Mt Iron, featuring its own private garden, stunning mountain views, full kitchen, bathroom, lounge/dining and queen bedroom, all on a single level. Relax on the sunny deck with comfortable outdoor lounging and dining sets or step down into your private courtyard and enjoy a drink in front of the outdoor fire. Centrally located, the cabin is just minutes from the heart of Wanaka town, lake and shops.

Large Ski Club Style Lodge, Views, Walk to town

This spacious, ski club style cabin is as captivating as the country it resides in. Sitting high on a ridge it overlooks a reserve and Wanaka township. This Lodge style home is full of character and charm to match. There is ample space for family, friends, dinner parties, and a tea or whiskey by the fire. With large lawns right next to a reserve and playground, you have plenty of privacy, or space for kids to run around should you need it.

Private cottage “Tree House”

Kick back and relax in this very private non-smoking, calm, stylish space. Completely furnished kitchen, fold-out sofa for child if needed, entire cottage renovated 2025, brilliant morning sun, sitting on one acre, last house on cul de sac. sorry , no pets. Seperate bedroom with ranch slider onto deck, modern bathroom with a washing machine, living area with TV, Wifi, table & 2 chairs, couch and fully equiped kitchen. Mountain views from kitchen and bedroom windows and from deck. Enjoy the Tui calling and the Keruru coming in to land in the trees. Ideal for a private getaway.

Cosy Albert Town Sleepout

New and modern sleepout is the perfect place too unwind and take a break from your travels. Our street is quiet which allows for a peaceful sleep. Capturing morning sun is perfect on these cooler days. Electric blanket and heating to keep you warm. A short walk to local cafe, pub, four square and local Clutha river. Great walking and bike trails close by. Five minute drive into Wanaka. Free WIFI.
