The property backs onto the Kauaeranga River, a beautiful clean flowing river with an idyllic swimming hole at the end of the property. The majestic Pinnacles walking track is at the end of the road. The cottage is just 5km from the centre of Thames township; everything is nearby, including the popular Hauraki Rail Trail which is a 3.5km cycle from Bakehouse Cottage.

Includes TV with Netflix, large frig/freezer, w/m, dryer, induction element, air fryer oven, electric frypan, toaster, microwave oven, Weber gas bbq, Nespresso coffee maker. A quiet haven off the main road, only 100 mtrs easy walk to beach reserve and fishing. Enjoy the birdsong, sunrise and daytime hours in the shady, tropical garden at the rear of the house with its generous outdoor seating and dining facilities, and take in the sunset from the deck and coastal garden in the front of the house.

A comfortable drive away are the east coast beaches, including Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. Just 1 hour 20 minutes from Auckland International Airport.

Situated at the start of the Kauearanga Valley with numerous bush walks and river swimming nearby. Close to the rail trail for biking or into town for a coffee. Our AirBnB is a separate, self-contained wing of our beautiful new home in Totara, 3kms south of Thames Township and gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula. We are about an hour’s drive from Auckland International Airport and close to the many and varied attractions of the Coromandel and the Waikato Region. Easy access to the Hauraki Rail Trail. From our elevated position there are uninterrupted views over the township, Firth of Thames and the Kauaeranga Valley.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. We offer a small cabin with rural views & access to a large private swimming hole with a sandy beach. There is no internet or TV so you can have a quiet getaway where you can forget the stresses of life & relax. We are on the Kauaeranga Valley Rd close to all the walking tracks, so if you are wanting to walk the tracks during the day & stay with us at night the cabin would be perfect for you.

Private rural setting with your nearest neighbour being your hosts 70 meters away. Stunning views of the Coromandel foothills and ranges from the awesome covered verandah. Cottage looks out over pasture and native wetlands. So you can always see some wildlife...and hear the moreporks at night.

Oystercatchers retreat is a lovely relaxing holiday place with everything you need. It is reasonably close to town and you can enjoy the wonderful views, especially the superb sunsets. It is clean and tidy and like a home away from home.
