We love this pub and the food has always been good when we have visited. Just a 5 minute drive along the coast in Crafthole to the east from Downderry.

Beautiful historic buildings with lots of eateries. It is lovely to get the foot ferry over to it from Cremyll on the Cornwall side. We love the Seco lounge for brunch and one can head up to Devils point for a walk which overlooks Plymouth Sound.

Outstanding views from the headland. There is an old chapel on the top and beautiful walks around it. Park in the small council car park by the Coastwatch building.

One of our favourite places. Beautiful walks around the grounds which are right next to the Tamar River overlooking Plymouth Sound with some small beaches to explore too. A couple of choices for food up at the stables or down at the orangery.

Picturesque village along with its twin Cawsand are a must visit. Lovely little beach and plenty of food and drink options. It’s a 15-20 minute drive away tucked just behind Whitsand Bay.

If you head through West Looe to Hannafore you get a lovely view of Looe Island. There are a few cafe’s to buy a cream tea or coffee. It a 15 minute drive.

If you head through West Looe to Hannafore you get a lovely view of Looe Island. There are a few cafe’s to buy a cream tea or coffee. It a 15 minute drive.
If you visit this stunning harbour we would recommend you drive to Polruan via Looe and Pelynt and park in the car park with the best view in Cornwall. It about a 30 minute drive. You can then get the foot ferry over into Fowey. This will avoid the difficulty of getting parked in Fowey which can be tricky in the summer and is a much more pleasant way to travel. We would recommend heading into the gardens of the Fowey Hotel for a cream tea which is open to non residents and has outstanding views over the river. Readmoney Beach is also very pretty.

Based at Watergate Bay on the North Coast it is a 50 minute drive from Downderry and a good surfing option if the South Coast is flat.

Our local beach just a 2 minute walk away. In the summer it is perfect for a kayak, stand up paddle board or snorkel. Lovely rock pools to explore and relatively quiet as beaches go. In the winter months it boasts incredible surfing waves when the conditions are right.
