Rancho San Diego is a 10 minutes drive with restaurants, coffee, target, grocery etc. 25 minutes to all San Diego attractions. There is hot water/wifi.

Our famed Wine Country Retreat is back online! (LTR for the last year) Take the back roads scenic drive 50mins up the hill from San Diego and enjoy some much needed quiet and comfy tranquility. Right in the heart of San Diego Wine Country, it’s a rather well appointed place situated on 10 private acres that overlooks expansive green space. With few neighbors in any direction, you can either sleep with the windows open and wake early to roosters crowing, or close the windows and sleep til Noon!

Secluded mid-century modern A-Frame cabin located in the Pine Hills community of historic Julian, CA. Built in 1969, the cabin completed a 2.5 year renovation in 2023 to meet modern tastes and amenities but keeps the original 60's groovy vibe. This unique family retreat offers a 900 sq ft deck, hot tub, firepits, and stunning views. Julian, a 1.5 hours drive east from San Diego, is a small town with big activities: hiking, biking, fishing, winery/breweries, winter sledding, apple pie eating.

Santee Lakes is just a short drive away where you can enjoy fishing, paddle boating, splash park, biking and picnic area. Mission Gorge Trails is also located just 5 minutes away.

The High Country Hobo Preserve: Rustic Cabin

Welcome to the High Country Hobo Preserve. This hidden gem is nestled in the Cleveland National Forrest. Guest cabin has all amenities: wood burning fireplace, board games, fishing poles, bottle house, bbq, and gold pans for when the creek is flowing. An outdoor fire pit if winds are calm. It has old character, unique charm, and is close to old mining town, Julian. Kitchen has fridge, hot plate, grill, microwave, coffee maker- coffee tea provided. Pets welcome, has dog door, fenced yard.

View the sunrise and sunset from this panoramic hilltop casita. Enjoy a charming getaway with sweeping views of the mountains and valleys. Enjoy refreshments on private patio while taking in the sights of palm trees and endless hills. Located 15 miles from the beach and 20 minutes from many major San Diego attractions. Please note: we currently have an outdoor renovation project in process behind the casita. There may be days during your stay in which outdoor work is being performed.

Back Country Retreat

Back Country Retreat is nestled under oak trees and surrounded by a natural rock setting. You will be greeted with several flower gardens. The retreat has a lovely flagstone patio with outdoor gas firepit and custom cedar bar. Pine Valley has clear night skies with no light pollution. You will feel right at home in this quiet neighborhood with access to the Cleveland National Forest for hiking, biking or birding. Owners live on the same property, so you may see them.

Expansive spaces, ocean views, birds singing, and larger than life granite boulders all come together to offer something that feels like magic. More like a national park than a home, we've found that guests enjoy the pace and peaceful surroundings and spend most of their visit without leaving. That being said, if you're feeling more exploratory, there are many options within a short drive including hiking, wine tasting, horseback riding, fishing, and even sky-diving.
