Inside the home, you'll find a comfortable retreat complete with an indoor fireplace, working kitchen, fridge & large day beds perfect for the ultimate relax and reset stay. We've also got a wood-fired sauna sitting on the large deck with a picturesque view of the Wombat State Forest. If you want to venture outside, there are walking tracks at your door stop.

Situated in "cool country" Trentham, the Chef’s Shed was originally built in 1860, and has been lovingly transformed into a cosy, spacious and unique place to stay. It has quirky living spaces, including a loft, and wide, stunning views over the land around, even from the private sauna which can be used for a modest fee. From here you can explore the region. We are surrounded by nature, and a few minutes drive from historic Trentham with cafes, pubs, walking tracks and a lot of history.

Outside there’s a huge deck, 'sky bath', beautiful dinner table, ping-pong and homemade chess set. Inside, an LED four-poster bed and massage table. You're so close to nature walks and the cultural centre of Castlemaine, with its music venues and art spaces. Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome - but add each dog when booking. No cats, sorry.
