  • Cocktail History & Mixology Class
Join me and have a blast as we use fresh, simple ingredients to make (and of course, drink!) delicious cocktails at home. This experience is GREAT FOR GROUPS & TEAM BUILDING (feel free to request a specific date & time). First things first…a great cocktail can be (and usually, should be) made with as few as three or four ingredients. The most common household items that will yield a wide array of choices are: citrus juice (from lemons or limes) and sugar (white, raw, maple syrup, agave nectar, honey etc). With even just one from each of these categories, you’ll be sitting pretty. For spirits, we’ll be drinking something fabulous whether we’re reaching for gin, rum, tequila, vodka, aquavit, whiskey…the list goes on. You will be guided through the history of bartending and cocktails - we'll discuss a few key techniques for making killer cocktails at home! We will dive into the finer details of ice, dilution, citrus, bitters, bar tool etiquette etc. We’ll shake cocktails, we’ll stir cocktails, we’ll laugh, we’ll drink, we’ll become friends. We'll socialize — regardless of distance.

  • Intentional Mantra Jewelry Stamping
For the first 15 minutes, we will create a word from your life experiences, dreams, or aspirations! Once you have a word that you feel will inspire you, you can choose from either a brass or nickel My Intent coin and I can walk you through the experience of turning this into an adjustable bracelet. As you enjoy some refreshments and conversation I will personalize and stamp your coin with a word of your choice up to 14 characters/numbers. Once the bracelet is stamped you will be able to wear it immediately! I would love to be a part of this journey and stamp on-site a bracelet for you to wear every day! * Upgrading to dainty necklace options are available upon request for an additional charge. After making reservations I will contact you within 48 hours of your reservation and provide the location of a Minneapolis location. I will provide all the materials and everything needed for this experience. I am honored to be part of your journey. I do kindly ask you to please be on time for your stamping experience. *All COIVD protocol must be followed per state/city laws

  • Nordic Spoon Carving in Minneapolis
Come spend a relaxing couple of hours learning the slow craft of spoon carving. This is not a race to the finish kind of class. We will go over knife safety, knife grips, and different kinds of knife strokes and practice on a stick before going onto your spoon blank. We axe out the spoon blanks before you arrive , so all you have to do is enjoy carving your spoon. There will be periodic breaks, and hand stretching as well as an axing demo by Erik so you can see how a spoon blank is made. This class will last three hours. Other things to note You will be carving a spoon from fresh green wood. We will be using knives and spoon hooks to make our spoon. Hand strength and an open mind to a new experience are helpful. Left handed welcome too.

  • Professional photo session
We will embark on our professional photo session in North East Minneapolis. Here we will learn the basics of photography with super artsy, unique, and edgy backgrounds. Once we have the basics down, we’ll take a walk on the famous Stone Arch bridge overlooking the falls and the Minneapolis skyline. After crossing the bridge, we will explore a high point at the Guthrie theater overlooking the water and city. We will also shoot near the Mill City Museum, which is very historical to Minnesota and carries a special atmosphere that will be captured in the photos. This last stop will conclude the tour throughout the Twin Cities. You won’t need any prior experience shooting, we’ll go over all the basics. If you’re already familiar with photography they’ll be a lot to explore and play around with!

  • Play with Clay in a Fanciful Studio
I will give you a tour of Clay Squared which is a working studio in two types of clay- Ceramic and Polymer clay. You'll be surrounded by my sculptures and my husband's tiles and we will both tell you about our art. Then I'll teach you a few easy techniques in polymer clay that even the non-artistic can pick up right away. Next you will get to explore my endless scrap pile to add to your own creations and make a finished piece which could be anything from a decorative frame to a light switch cover to a sugar bowl. I can bake your creation for you while you wait (20 minutes) or you can take it with you to bake yourself. I always create right a long side you- sometimes on large commissions and sometimes on small pieces. I will also share any info you are interested in about the North East Minneapolis Arts District which is home of over 400 studios. Other things to note Everything you learn is step by step and Layl is all about positivity. Polymer clay is magical and very forgiving.
