The perfect place to be in the woods, but not isolated. Cook your meals in the nearby cookhouse (40’ away, unheated) on a camp stove or over an open campfire. A heated bathroom/shower is 20’ away. We love it every time we are able to get up north to our classic Adirondack home-away-from-home. If we didn't have to work about two hours to the south, we'd live full time at the cottage. From the spacious kitchen, to the 3 comfy queen beds and the bunk room, to the wonderful fireplace, to the cozy separate sitting areas, to the living room with cathedral ceiling, to the huge front porch, to the fire pit in the back yard...we long to make the trek back up to Whiteface/Wilmington.

Tucked in the woods on our working sheep farm, our off-grid tiny house is the perfect escape and stepping stone into the Adirondack mountains for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. We are 5 minutes from Saranac Lake, 10 Minutes from Lake Placid, and 25 minutes from Whiteface. Located on a peninsula of Oseetah Lake, we have waterfront access perfect for ice skating, snowshoeing and XC skiing in the winter right from our doorstep. The lake offers sweeping views of Ampersand and the surrounding mountains.
