Welcome to my low country home on James Island, located on a tidal creek within a quiet family neighborhood. The large backyard is on a beautiful marsh with water access allowing for amazing views. It’s 7min from downtown and 10min from Folly Beach. Perfect central location on James Island to everything Charleston has to offer. Your private, renovated flat occupies the top floor of our elevated home. We live in the floor below and use a separate entrance. We do not allow children under 14 and guests must be at least 24 years old.

The Garden Folly Guest House

Our architect said, “this is NOT a garage, it’s a Garden Folly!” Our Guest House has a bird’s eye view of the rose covered pecan tree and a vista of the marsh and the Wappoo Creek. When we rebuilt our 1930's garage we saved all the beaded siding and pine floor. My husband enjoyed incorporating many design elements and creative ideas. It was quickly becoming the Taj Garage. We decided it was just the kind of property we enjoy when we travel, so, Voila! we decided to share it with you!

King Tide offers some of the most spectacular views Folly Beach has to offer—spanning the marsh, the iconic Morris Island Lighthouse, the Ravenel Bridge, and the Atlantic Ocean. With two spacious back decks, a large front porch, and an open-concept living area, you’ll have no shortage of places to soak it all in. Located just across the street from the beach, King Tide is a short walk to public beach access and the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve. Sleeps 10–11 guests comfortably.

This newly built carriage house is separate from the main house. The cottage is about 1,200 sqft so it very open and spacious and great views of marsh and our tidal creek. We have a separate work area with desk and a massive dinning table if you need more room to work or to gather with friends. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, massive shower, the list goes on. The River Girl is located on Johns Island, a beautiful 20 min drive to downtown Charleston, 20 min to Kiawah, & 20 to Folly Beach. We hope this place provides a comfy spot to rest your head at the end of a fun day exploring. We also want you to take advantage of the slow island life! Go crabbing off the dock and cook your supper! Read a book on the back deck & enjoy the breeze. Light a candle, & take a soak in the tub! Just enjoy yourself. Fully updated!
