Did you know that spending time around animals reduces stress and increases feelings of happiness? You can double that when they are rescued goats! Come spend outdoor time in a small group with ample room for social distancing to meet some of the most affectionate goats there are. Visitors will get to meet and learn about each goat and breed as well as their rescue stories, behaviors and unique characteristics of the species. Sanctuary Tour and Pamper a Pig
How often do you have the chance to spend time with an adorable pot belly pig? Well, here is your chance! All of the pot belly pigs at Wayward Ranch Animal Sanctuary have been rescued, whether from abuse, neglect, or simply owners who were not properly educated about how to care for them. With so many myths being perpetuated about these so called "mini pigs" we want to educate about what they are really like while we have fun spoiling them with you. Come and enjoy a piggy day when you can come, take a tour of our entire facility, learning about the work we do with horses, goats, dogs, cats, and pigs. Finish the tour by helping us to feed our pigs their dinner and some treats and you will get happy grunts and tail wags in return! Other things to note Whenever you are interacting with animals, it is important to keep in mind that animals can be unpredictable. They may accidentally scratch you or even grab a finger when they mean to grab a treat from your hand. Our pigs are not aggressive generally, but it is always best to be cautious around all animals!

Hike up to Ragged Mountain through an abandoned ski area
Catch the fall foliage in the Berkshires! Ragged Mountain is wild and uncrowded, a great spot to enjoy the changing leaves in a serene setting. Looking for a moderate hike with a series of beautiful vistas and a little adventure at the top? If you're not confident with trail navigation, or maybe looking for a "sure thing" trail, or just want to take a hike with a friendly guide, this is the one for you! We'll start in lovely Greylock Glen, in the shadow of MA's tallest mountain, and wander up through the ruins and overgrown slopes of an old abandoned ski area. Then hike up to Bellows Pipe pass, where we'll ascend a short, steep section to Ragged Mountain. There we'll take in the first view of Mt. Greylock above before navigating the narrow paths along the rocky ridge where we'll emerge onto a few more rocky peaks with stunning views of the Berkshires in the distance and the towns below. On the way back down we'll explore more of the old ski area. Along the way we'll encounter Greylock Park's array of wildlife, and I'll point out what I can. I'm pleased to chat and share my knowledge as we go, but there's no script I'll be following. And I always have a digression ready to go, and a side trail to explore! I'm happy to modify the hike distance and difficulty based on your preferences (and can sometimes adjust the start time), so please reach out if you have any questions.

Essential oil and hydrolat distillation in the Hudson Valley
My name is Libby and I am a clinical aromatherapist, certified herbalist, and an experienced educator. Join me upstate New York, in the picturesque town of Rhinebeck, on an 80 acre property to learn the ancient art of distillation. You will learn how to distill 2 products - essential oil and hydrolat (medicinal water) - using a copper alembic still from Europe. This is the same way people have been distilling aromatic remedies for thousands of years. We will harvest plant material to distill (if none is available I will provide from another source), and then you will be a part of the distillation process from start to finish. Hands on you will learn the basics of distillation in regard to these medicinal waters and oils, with you preparing the plant matter and putting the still together. There is also a DIY element with you making a wellness product from the distillation to take home. We will discuss way to incorporate the products into hygiene, skin care, food & drink or for wellness. A handout will also be provided.
