Perfect for families in the summer or a romantic getaway for a couple in the winter. The view from your bed upstairs is just a gorgeous sea ! In the summer, throw all the kids together in the one room, and parents are upstairs in their own rooms. Sorry, not suitable for under 5 because of the stairs.

If you need to relax and have a restorative break away then Ti Tree is the place to come. This is an unknown part of the country that has ancient geology and astounding beauty. A walk to the river mouth weather permitting and depending on tides is where you will experience 7000 year old Totara Tree stumps . There are amazing rock formations at the mouth of the Kaiwhata river also. In evening you can relax under the night sky in the private spa pool which is right outside you door.

Lulu's Cottage

Te Matai is a 1950s working sheep and cattle farm situated 15 minutes from Masterton and just 45 minutes to Castlepoint/Riversdale beaches. The original farm shed has been renovated into a cosy cottage nestled in her beautiful country garden with many established trees. Wander the garden and relax under the big walnut tree with a glass of wine. Enjoy the native bush and the song of the bird life. Please conserve water as reliant on tank supply.
