Shepard’s Hut in Small Orchard

This is a stand alone unit totally self contained with shower and toilet. Unlike garden rooms this unit has wheels and a tow bar. The (should I say) Shepherdess Hut as it was used by a small holder during lambing to be close to her flock. Not suitable for long stays. More details below in The Space. Our small orchard has 2 x cherry, plum, 3 x pear, 2 x apple, greengage, apricot, mulberry, medlar and olive. We also have two 2 x raspberry, loganberry, Japanese wine berry and our own hops

The village itself has 2 pubs and lots of walking routes nearby. Paper Mill Lock is a pleasant 30 min walk and has water sport facilities and tea room. Footpath maps available. Travel cot or single fold out guest bed avail on request, no additional cost.

Outside you have your own private wood fired hot tub and BBQ with countryside views whilst at night you can gaze at the stars on your star gazing bed, which also makes a superb sun bed for catching those rays 💚

This beautiful unique listed cottage, built in 1666, is located in the Anchorage area of West Mersea. Just a short stroll from local pubs, restaurants, the beach and the sailing club.
