Smugglers’ Creek, Riverside Cottage, Stoke Gabriel

Smugglers’ Creek is a cosy traditional fisherman’s cottage on the riverside in the lovely village of Stoke Gabriel, South Hams. There is a slipway just outside the cottage where you can launch your dinghy or kayak, and you can also hire a kayak from the quay in summer. Directly opposite the cottage is the fab River Shack Cafe for delicious drinks and meals morning to night (Thurs to Sunday in winter)The village boasts 2 pubs and a restaurant, general store with P.O. and the Dart River Gallery.

Wake up to the chorus of seagulls and watch boats glide by as you eat breakfast on the water's edge. Take a stroll through the stunning Devon countryside or hop on a boat for a river adventure. And when you're ready, head to Dartmouth to explore the maze of shops, chic boutiques and restaurants.

Shuttaford Barn is a recently converted barn on a 16thC Dartmoor farmstead on the edge of the moors next to Holne and Ashburton. It is the perfect spot to explore the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, walk along the beautiful River Dart or head to the many South Devon beaches for the day. Or just relax in the peaceful surroundings of the barn and its garden. In summer months we generally do Friday to Friday bookings. Please message us if you would like to book alternative days.
