With lots of trails and the Susquehanna River close by, your family can spend many hours hiking in southern Lancaster County. Experience the local Britain Hill Vineyard,coffee,and ice cream shops nearby. The charming city of Lancaster with its many authentic restaurants is only a 20 minute drive. The Old Red Barn

Renovated studio in barn built circa 1830, centrally located to all activities in the Berkshires. Bright and sunny space with views of fields and spectacular sunsets. Open upstairs loft bedroom with pine floors, catherial ceiling, exposed beams, full kitchen , bathroom and washer and dryer. The Berkshires are beautiful in the fall , come stay ! 5 minute drive to town. Walk to the Green River , hike the trails. We provide all basic household supplies. We invite all to enjoy our old red barn.

*Please note that while the cottage is the same, the damage from Hurricane Helene has drastically altered the look of the property around it. The Carriage House is the second floor of our cedar stables that was turned into an apartment years ago. It has been completely redone and professionally decorated to make it a cozy + luxe retreat with beautiful views. While we no longer use the stables to house animals we still keep a few head of cattle + sheep in the pasture for your enjoyment. The wall of windows along the back of the apartment offer you the most stunning views of the surrounding farmland and an unforgettable sunrise.

The Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead is the oldest restored Amish property in Berks County, bought by Immigrant Nicholas Stoltzfus (ancestor of all Stoltzfus descendants in America) in 1771. You will be staying in a peaceful and cozy barn loft apartment with a private entrance beside the stone house. You can enjoy the flower gardens and birds, tour the house, take a bike ride or picnic on the lawn. Adjacent to the property is the Union Canal Towpath on the Tulpehocken Creek.
