Enchanted Seven Waterfalls Hike
On this Enchanted Waterfalls Hike we will venture into the foothills of the Cascade mountains, enjoying a beautiful scenic drive through the countryside before reaching our trailhead. Once on location we will hike "The Crown Jewel of Oregon", Silver Falls. This breathtaking ~5mi loop leads us down a well established path, suitable for both beginner and seasoned hikers alike. Emotions come alive as we immerse ourselves in the moss covered forest and venture behind a towering 177ft waterfall and watch as the crystal clear water crashes to the ground, before continuing on our journey passing 7 unique waterfalls in total. Along our path we may discuss native plants, animals, landscape topography and ecosystem functions in a natural and fluid manner. Before reaching the trails end we will pass through a stand of old growth forest, peering up at 250ft tall trees dating to over a thousand years old. Once back at the trailhead we will enjoy our final glimpse of the forest in the company of our newfound friends. When the last photo has been taken and the energy of this magical land has been fully realized, we will make the return journey to Portland!
Multnomah Zen, a four waterfall scenic hiking experience
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions in every world culture. Meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we could visit a few small hidden waterfalls or spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.
Three waterfalls tour including Multnomah Falls and Vista

Pottery Wheel Lesson at Artist Loft
Each person gets 1 hour on the wheel! This experience is 2 hours for 2 people. If it's just you book for one person. If there are two, please book two slots. The first 5 minutes of class I will give you a brief tour of Everett Station Lofts. I will then take you upstairs to the my shared art studios loft. You will get access to a local Portland artists’ studio and a chance to see behind the scenes of the artists’ process as well as works in progress. What is unique about this space is all of the residents are practicing artists. It is a great space to get a peek into the Portland art scene. I will start the instruction by explaining the main principles of wheel throwing technique using visual aids. We will then move into the practical instruction. I will instruct you on centering the clay on the wheel, using the coning technique to prep the clay, and finally pulling the clay into its final form. You will have enough time to make between 1-2 pieces depending on what you choose to create. Some great first project ideas include: mug, bowl, etc. You might get muddy! Each students get 1 hour of instruction time. Come with a strong vision in mind or we can create something unique together! The goal of this class is for you to leave with a solid knowledge of beginner wheel throwing technique
Downtown Coffee & Donut Tour
Come walk around the bustling streets of Downtown Portland with your local guide and discover why Portland is the coffee and donut capital of the world! We'll visit several genuinely local craft coffee houses for an interactive look at different styles and flavors of coffee. Plus we’ll munch on a bunch of locally-made donuts from shops you can only find right here in Portland. We like to think this the perfect way to discover Downtown Portland, see where locals get their coffee and donut fix, and have fun! Some things you can expect: - At least three different types of coffee and plenty of donuts at a total of 4-5 different shops. (Reasonable drinking sizes that most coffee drinkers can handle and enjoy.) - Devour several different flavors of classic donuts from a tiny donut shop. - Learn all about coffee and its history, including how coffee's third wave movement started right here in Portland! - Walk around the bustling streets of downtown to discover Portland’s quirkiness and preserved remnants of an historic past. - Learn the technique of brewing the perfect cup of coffee from a barista extraordinaire. - Visit the most unique Portland donut shop and find out why the donuts take 3-days to make. - Stand in Pioneer Courthouse Square and learn all about “Portland’s Living Room”. *We do not visit Voodoo or Blue Star during this tour as they are on the common tourist track.
Portland's Underground Donut Tour
On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Portland, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start near the PSU campus where we begin at Sesame Donuts and try some of their amazing sesame donuts as well as many others. We then take a nice walk through central Portland over to Fills Donuts to sample some of their daily specials. Their menu changes often. From there, it's off to NOLA Doughnuts where we'll sample beignets and some of the best chocolate donuts you've ever had. We'll finish the tour at Voodoo Doughnuts, where you can even skip the line (sometimes a 30-60 minute ordeal). We hope you can join us! Other things to note Currently, many of these shops do not have gluten free or vegan options, so options are very limited.
Enchanted forest hike, greatest hits, six parks & gardens
Here's Airbnb’s #1 "Best of Portland" forest hike and scenic tour - including Forest Park, the glorious Pittock Mansion, views of city/rivers/mountains, and the best of Washington Park, too. Walk the famous Wildwood Trail, hug the 242' tallest American city tree, enjoy a babbling creek + waterfalls, wild birdsong, walk in the Old Stone House, and snap selfies at the summit viewpoint overlooking Portland and Mt Hood. On clear days see 4 Cascade volcano peaks! ...and that's just the first half! We continue downhill, over the elegant Walker footbridge for more glorious Wildwood trail steps thru Washington Park + Hoyt Arboretum, relax on the Redwood Forest deck benches, inspect exotic trees from around the world, and finish at our famous Japanese Garden and International Rose Test Garden complex (tour on your own if you wish). This 5-mile hike with 900-foot vertical gain is perfect for fitness seekers, will last about 3.5 hours and can be tailored! Want a 2-hour version? Decide at the top to grab a Lyft/Uber to skip the 2nd half. Waste no precious vacation time: our trail's start and end are less than 3 miles from Portland's center. Bring light layers for a 3-hour experience. It's a splendid hike in the rain, but bring a raincoat + hat/hood. Comfy walking / running shoes or light hikers are best for our unpaved forest trail. Portland’s #1 hike, since 2018!
Aerial Tram and Rooftop Excursion
We'll meet at a convenient location downtown and then head to Portland's Aerial Tram to capture some stunning photos of the city's skyline. After a short excursion in the clouds, we'll visit a rooftop in the Pearl District. There you can enjoy views of the unique architectural styles present in Portland, from a gold level sustainable rooftop, tastefully restored from a 1895 warehouse. The 3rd and final viewpoint takes place at a hotel in Chinatown, where you can order tea, coffee, beer or mimosa on the a captivating roof a 1881 former sailors boarding house. My weekly work schedule allows for flexibility and I am open to moving things around, so if you have a different time in mind, please don't hesitate to ask. *Depending on the size group we make take public transportation, Lyft or private car. Other things to note Because the tour lasts three hours, I advise bringing a snack or a bottle of water. The price is at $35/per person to keep this experience affordable, but I do accept tips. :)

Forge a Knife
Forge a Knife! Guests will forge with Host Gordon to hand-hammer and grind out a lifetime artisan knife. Beginner's glass blowing lessons in North Portland
Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my private borosilicate glass studio for one-on-one instruction on how to make your first piece of glass art! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and am offering private classes in my home studio in North Portland. Students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art in a two-hour beginner’s lesson. Depending on experience, participants will have the chance to create a variety of items including marbles (typical for beginners), small sculptures, or a small glass ornament. If you make a fun marble I'm happy to turn it into a wine bottle stopper for you! Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience). Interested in a class for two people? I'm happy to accommodate an extra person but only have one torch set up at a time, so both individuals will take turns blowing glass. In order to make sure you both get adequate time on the torch, I recommend extending class time to about 3 hours. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Edible Mushrooms for Beginners Hike
Come learn the basics of mushroom hunting in this field class and hike. I'll introduce important ID concepts, and a dozen beginner-friendly species of the Pacific Northwest. Of course we will cover critical safety advice. The field class portion will be about 1 to 1. 5 hours, and then we'll explore and mushroom hunt for another 2 hours on a hike. The whole experience will be outdoors. I ask that participants either show their vaccination card, or wear a mask when within 10 feet of others. (I'm fully vaccinated and boosted.) We'll be able to spread out at times on the hike, at which time folks can take a break from masking. Some hunting off the trail will be done for those who want to. Bring water, raingear and grippy hiking shoes/boots, at a minimum. I'll provide you with a folding knife, field guides to share, and a bag for collecting mushrooms, if you don't have these items. I always carry the ten essentials of hiking, like a first aid kit, flashlights, etc. I look forward to a great day exploring, learning, and discovering amazing mushrooms together!
