The Seamist Cottage - Converted Historic Barn

Cozy, fully converted historic barn within easy walking distance to the rocky shore of Bass Harbor, a busy lobstering port. An ideal, pet friendly, home base while exploring Acadia National Park. The Seamist is located on "the quietside" of the island. Six minutes from Southwest Harbor and thirty minutes to Bar Harbor, the Seamist also offers guests private hot tub access! Two guests maximum, not a suitable space for children. Please keep allergies in mind when booking. No smoking.

Our beachfront home is good for families and pets, with open plan, private bedrooms and an enclosed deck. The beach is perfect for cookouts, walking and exploring. We are nestled down a long gravel drive with quiet neighbors. The main floor bedroom (queen bed) accesses a screened sitting area. The downstairs bedroom (walkout basement) has twin beds and futon chair (single). We are 5 miles from the village, 2.5 miles from Acadia Visitor Center, and .5 miles from an Explorer stop.

Jack is also a licensed boat Captain through the U.S. Coast Guard and offers a discounted sail charter to our guests aboard our 36 ft. Catalina, Luna. Wicket Good Road is a private apartment in a wooded/garden setting. 12 miles from Acadia National Park, 14 to Bar Harbor and tourist attractions, and five miles to Ellsworth and essentials. Large deck with grill for dining in or out, well equipped kitchen, large screen TV, air conditioning (it can get hot in Maine, believe it or not), comfortable queen bed, large outdoor space with gardens and quiet. And great wifi! It's a comfy base of operations for summer fun in Maine!

SNOW SWEET, A Yurt for All Seasons

Snow Sweet at The Appleton Retreat is very private, check out the Trail Map. This contemporary yurt faces the Field of Dreams and has a nice view of Appleton Ridge. It features a private therapeutic hot tub on the deck, a fire pit, and fast wifi. The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting six unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1300 acre reserve.

Guests can enjoy our new communal outdoor kitchen—with a grill, Blackstone griddle, air fryer, hot plate, and plenty of seating.
