End your day around the outdoor fire pit, roasting marshmallows or enjoying an evening cocktail.

The Appleton Retreat is situated on 120 acres of privately owned land. To the south, a short walk from Summer Rose, is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area where you can view wildlife or kayak; and to the north, a wooded trail leads to a secluded pond on 1,300 acres of Nature Conservancy protected land.

Bas Harbor is a working harbor so there is always something to watch. Close to Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, Acadia NP. We have 5G Wifi. Nearby is Archies lobster pound, Hansen’s seaside takeout (both walkable) and by car Thurstons lobster pound. And Seafood ketch. There are many other options in the neighboring town of Southwest Harbor.
