Traditional Faroese house in Tórshavns city center

This traditional and cozy Faroese house, originally constructed in 1896, has, even though it's totally renovated, stayed faithful to the original design. The house features a traditional turf roof and the body of the house still features the same wood/oak which was placed in 1896, giving the house a real warmth. The view is extraordinary, featuring Nólsoy and the harbor of Tórshavn. The renovations of the house give it a modern touch without taking away from the original design.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet environment, while still only a 25 min walk to the city center of Tórshavn. Free busses drive to the center and the stop is only a 8 min walk away. The house's unique location makes it possible to observe a varied wildlife of seabirds, some seals, fishing boats, cruise liners and container ships up close. This small house has two floors. "Hjá Polla-Vilhelm" is a house located in the old part of Tórshavn called Undir Ryggi. Its as central as it can be, and in a historical and beautiful neighbourhood. The house is an traditional faroese house, and was build in 1856. It has been renovated since, but only with the use of old materials. Adress is Undirryggi 7.
