I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

It is designed with a lot of hand-dyed Japanese style Tang paper, wallpapers made of tin and gold foils, and other traditional Japanese crafts and elements. "Hotei-an" Machiya House, near from Fushimi Inari

The name, “Hotei-an”, comes from Hotei-san, who is one of the Seven Deities of Good Luck. The 7 statues at the “Hotei-an” have been enshrined there for many years. It is said that Hotei-san will make your dreams come true, help you to have a happy home, and bring you luck with money. “Hotei-an” was renovated and re-started as a private hotel in 2015. Please make you relax, and feel Zen soul.

In this traditional house of 3 floors, entirely refurbished on 2020, you will be invited to stay on the second floor and have your private appartement there. The house is composed of 4 private apartments.
