This is the gem of downtown entertaining you'll find cold pints, great music and great food. The Fish and Chips is some of the best in town.

Home of Newfoundland's original arts movement. All the pioneers drank here. It has over the years been a favoured venue for musicians. They serve a nice lunch.

Dirty and overpriced, the ship is still a great spot to grab a pint and check out the local music scene or get in a fight

Go to Folk Night every Wednesday evening at 930pm to see some of NL's top folk musicians for only $5. Best indie music this side of Montreal on weekends. Great bar staff - ask Bill to tell you a joke (NSFW!).

“The Rooms is a portal to the many stories this province and its people have to tell. Here, you'll find collections, exhibits and programs that tell our stories and interpret our natural world through art, artifacts, archaeology, architecture and archival records.”

“As St. John’s most popular landmark, Signal Hill recalls the town’s historic past and communications triumph, as well as offering coastal hikes and colourful performances against sweeping views overlooking the Atlantic. Signal Hill was the site of St. John’s harbour defenses from the 17th century to the Second World War and where Guglielmo Marconi received the world’s first transatlantic wireless signal in 1901.”

“Stark white Cape Spear Lighthouse pierces a sky swirling with seabirds atop a craggy headland. It overlooks a vast expanse of indigo ocean where glittering processions of icebergs glide by, Humpback whales breach and pods of porpoises send misty spouts into the Atlantic air. On Canada’s easternmost point of land, historic Cape Spear Lighthouse, the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland and Labrador, offers a glimpse into the lives of 19th century lighthouse keepers and their families.”
