Sierra Crestellina (“Crested Range”), granted Protected Natural Site status in 1989, is located in the municipality of Casares. It stands out for its geographical formations: medium-height mountains with an uneven surface, hence the name. Covering an area of 478 hectares, these formations were created by the action of water and weather conditions on the limestone the terrain is composed of. A range of walks allow visitors to enjoy the area’s landscapes; there are a range of difficulty levels which depend on the elevation change of the route.
