Local, popular bakery and restaurant. A bit funky and well worth the stop for a fresh oaf or breakfast, lunch, or a treat.

(Open with pandemic precautions) Kouign Amann of your dreams, but really all the pastry here is the best you're going to find without a trip to Montreal or Boston. Most restaurants source their bread from here, and the bakery delivers bread to every reseller daily. The pastries are only found here though. Do not miss the maple sticky bun. Their galettes are a treat, sometimes with buckwheat crust. Opens at 7am. Afternoon baguettes are worth the trip after noon or so; call ahead so you can buy one still warm. Ask for a package of Ploughgate butter. Next level pizza Friday and Saturday evenings. Always at Saturday farmers market in Waitsfield as well.

Red Hen is a 'bakery.' But also have really good creemees with homemade waffle cones.

A must stop for coffee and bread supplies if you come via I-89. Take Exit 9 onto Rt 2 (go left). About a mile down the road on the right.
