Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts is an Antique Portuguese Mansion tastefully converted into non-profit arts initiative founded by Dipti and Dattaraj V. Salgaocar. The Centre is a strong advocate for the arts in Goa, providing working and exhibition space, assistance with exchange and grant funding initiatives, infrastructural and creative support for special co-operative projects and networking with state, national and international organizations. Located in the picturesque Altinho hills of Panjim, Sunaparanta houses several exhibition galleries, a library, a large multi-functional space for workshops and lectures, an open-air amphitheatre, a courtyard that houses Café Al Fresco.

Check out their website to get the latest gallery and weekly movie screenings. Visit this old restored Goan house anyway to sit with a book or work on your laptop (or do both) at their beautiful courtyard café.

Last but not least... My favorite of them all! A nonprofit arts education initiative, Sunaparanta aims to preserve Goa's artistic legacies, support local artists and art students, and provide a link between the Goan art community and national and international art communities. The center hosts regular art exhibitions, lectures, film screenings, and workshops throughout the year; its festivals and events often attract leading writers and artists from both India and abroad.
