Two twin beds, a daybed (with additional pull-out bed) and a sumptuous king size bed make this suite a great choice for a family getaway, or the perfect hiding place for just the two of you. Schockelhorne is an endearing Irish term for a matchmaker/chaperone/marriage broker. In the movie “The Quiet Man,” set in the town of “Innisfree,” schockelhorne Michaleen O’Flynn (Barry Fitzgerald) kept Sean Thorton (John Wayne) and Mary Kate Danaher (Maureen O’Hara) in line while they were courting. Michael Collins Room - Innisfree Bed & Breakfast

Original oak trimmed fireplace and a tiled hearth welcome you to the Michael Collins room. Extensive fretwork, adjoining private bath with original claw foot tub, queen size bed and a cozy sitting area invite you to relax and stay awhile in this gorgeous room. The room was named for the Irish legend Michael Collins. Micael O Coileain, aka Michael Collins, is regarded as one of history’s most intriguing and mysterious figures. The charismatic Irish rebel led Ireland’s fight for independence from Britain. In his very controversial role as IRA leader, he was indeed the man who made modern Ireland possible. Though Collins is seen as hero to some and rogue to others, his name is still in the hearts and minds of those with a love of Irish history.

O'Malley Room - Innisfree Bed & Breakfast

The Grainnie O’Malley is a delightful room historically decorated with a queen size 4-poster bed and charming sitting area in the turret...a cheerful yet elegant space in which to while your time away. The room is named after Grainnie O’Malley, or Grace, who was born in County Mayo in the year 1530, and is known in Irish culture as the “Pirate Queen.” It is said that when she was a little girl, she wanted to accompany her father on one of his trips at sea, but he said she could not because she was a girl. She cut off her hair, donned boy’s clothes, and was known thereafter as Grainnie Mhael, or Grainnie the bald! A woman before her time, she led fleets of ships during battles with the British.

Yeats Room - Innisfree Bed & Breakfast

The Yeats room is an enchanting, comfortable room with double bed and sitting area by the windows looking out on to the trees and fern-filled side yard. We think he would have found inspiration here. William Butler Yeats was born in Dublin in 1865 and died in 1939. He was a dramatist, prose writer and one of the greatest English language Irish poets of the 20th century. Yeats received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. His poem, “The Lake Isle of Innisfree,” inspired the naming of this B & B.

Quiet home in wooded area minutes from Notre Dame

There are three bedrooms available. The master bedroom has a queen bed and attached bath. The second bedroom has a full & twin bed, the third bedroom has a full bed. Both of these bedrooms share a full bathroom. There is a half bath on the first floor. We live on the premises and also provide breakfast. We are 15 minutes from Notre Dame & the Indiana Toll Road exits and 30 minutes from Andrews University. Check for room availability, some rooms are available on reserved dates.

The Lahey Room is decorated with an eye toward cozy comfort, featuring a queen size bed, and a view of the trees past an ornamental balcony. Another window overlooks lovely Colfax Ave. The room was named by the inn's founders in memory of Dr. Mary Anne Lahey, a dear friend to many. Dr. Lahey was a modern day hero whose passion for life was a true inspiration.
