Nestled in the mountains of Nagano at an elevation of 860 meters (2,821 feet), this is a luxury home exclusively for those who want to escape tourist traps, experience a side of Japan rarely seen by outsiders, and do it in style. Our 3-bedroom home is 200 sq. meters (2153 sq. feet) large and is a marriage between traditional Japanese architecture and modern technology and comfort. The home is accessible from Tokyo and other major cities via the Shinkansen bullet train or Joshin-etsu Expressway.

Modern Ski Chalet, Togakushi, walk to restaurants

Renovated to be open, modern and spacious our chalet is only 20 minutes drive from Nagano City, Togakushi and Iizuna ski resorts. It is less than 5 minutes walk (or 1 min drive) to some cafes and restaurants and the new Nagano Forest Village. There, you can buy local produce, craft beers & wine, and walk around the beautiful area. We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter. We are 1080m above sea level, its cool in summer!

This family-friendly and the newly renovated house is located in the very traditional district and the calm but convenience area in Nagano city. The house is authentic and unique as it was a traditional Japanese clothing (Kimono) shop before. The entire house is done in a classic style as used to be, except for a newly built kitchen, toilet and bathroom that provide all the necessities of modern life.
