Great pub food, a friendly cosy evening getaway for a pub drink and eat in a local but warm atmosphere likes dogs . 5 mins drive from house , or a half an hour walk along a footpath .

Absolutely beautifull !Thoroughly reccomend , only a 10 min drive from the house .Wild ponies ,Gorgeous nature to immerse yourselves in . Great bird watching .A choice of well signed walks long distance , and short .There is also a visitor centre with fascinating nature events ,and things to do for kids and adults on the right days...bat walks , pond dipping , nature exploration etc .A great bird watching area .

Its a big beautiful forest , many lovely walks , and wildlife , including deer etc .Cycle routes .

It is a wonderful long distance walk , taking in some gorgeous country side . It goes through Diss , following the path of the Waveny River ,and connects with other walks , including the peddars way .

Excellent direct travel direct to London Liverpool st (1 hour 45mins)...if you book in advance , you might be able to get tickets for as little as 9 pounds . Direct to Norwich station (15 mins ). From Norwich , direct to Cambridge , and many other places .

Its a lovely city , with many nooks and crannies , if you look .And lots of history ,and plenty of culture .the theatre often has really good performances , including dance , circus etc . Why not check out norwich puppet theatre while your at it , often has lovely shows for kids in an ancient church full of puppets .

The garden is a wildlife haven , and there are some good small walks only five minutes away up the Heywood , follow the wooden sign posts .

There has been a market in Diss , I believe since the saxon times , and on friday , there still is .friday fish stall good fresh selection ..great dressed crab ,if you like . Fresh vedge from local farmers good selection of local eggs ...although we have chickens , so you could take theirs ...only 2 a day though .

A fascinating warren of artists workshops ..huddled in an old and lovely building on the High Street in diss ..go inside , and you will find weavers , and looms offering workshops , or weavings to buy ..glass jewelry makers ..a wood worker , a ceramisist , a clothes maker ..and so much more . Artists are at work , and happy to explain their processes .....and also happy to sell their wares ..great presents ! Open Thursday , Fri , Sat , but I believe only between 10 and 12 .Well worth a visit , if you are in Diss , and interested in the crafts .
