Take a drive north, stop for tea and scones at the Port Douglas marina then continue north to Mossman Gorge. Its a lovely walk into the gorge with natural swimming holes and rainforest. Pack a picnic or enjoy lunch in the restaurant at the base of the gorge where you get the bus ride in from - great meals.

Sightseeing
Its not a visit to Cairns without a visit to the Reef. Go find Nemo at least one day. There are many tour companies to choose from. Sue works for the company that does the dive operation on Reef magic Cruises, so we are a little biased towards them :)

Essentials
Walk out the side gates of the complex (next to Morris Building in which we llive), and down the street you see directly opposite (Short St) Cross the railway lines through the walkway and you are at teh local IGA - has all the basics. If you want to do a bigger shop though, et to a Coles or Woolies (or order online and have it delivered)
