The food is delicious. Order the Chicken Mole or the Chile Relleno off of the small menu - you have to ask for it, they don't give the small menu to you. The last time we ate there the price was 40 pesos per entree!

Go see Alex three nights a week at his pop-up pizza restaurant a 3 minute walk from our beach house. His English is excellent, he grew up in the neighourhood right next to our beach house, and is respected and connected in the town. His mother Lena serves delicious Mexican food the other nights a week in this delightful family run spot. It is meticulously clean and an amazing bargain.

Sayulita is 20 minutes from our beach house and worth the trip. You'll love it (it's like a movie version of a cool Mexican surf town) and then love retreating back to our lazy, slowpoke corner. A French graphic designer moved to Sayulita and makes the best, beach dresses and Frida Kahlo-inspired graphics. She exports internationally and her beach blankets are photographed on global celebrities.

Getting Around
If you are renting a car, stop at Gecko and pick one up after you leave the airport and then continue along highway 200 to La Penita. You can't miss us - stay on the highway until La Penita de Jaltemba and then turn left onto Calle Mazatlan on the north side of town. Our beach house La Esquina Perezosa is at the end of the block, right on the beach!
