With its house and garden adjacent to the outer Old Town wall this is highly recommend. Accessible from Uus street it serves proper, newly refined Estonian cuisine, so essentially things which people along the coast from Antwerp, Hamburg, Lübeck, Danzig, Königsberg, Riga to Reval have eaten already for centuries: dishes based on beef, veal, pork, venison, boar, herring, seasonal fish, all with potatoes, all sorts of coloured cabbage (‘kraut’) and greens but here the cooks have simply attained a level of skill which warms your heart. It benefits from its unique and exclusive setting with its secluded garden below the 11th century wall served by its BBQ grill.
