It’s famous for sunset views, and dotted with seats and jetties to enjoy them. Look for Merimbula’s resident seal, who sleeps nearby and patrols the oyster leases looking for fish to snack on. Top Lake Boat Hire and Sunset Kiosk at the Lakewood Drive end of the walk is a great place to enjoy the views, or hire a boat or kayak to get out on the water.
Begin from Lakewood Drive at the back of the lake or park next to the bridge at the bottom of Market Street. The boardwalk is suitable for wheelchairs and dog friendly (on leash please).

The Bermagui Blue Pool is a spectacular ocean pool and a ‘must see’ for visitors to the Sapphire Coast. It’s been a favourite with the locals for many years and on a clear day the reflecting sapphire blue sky accounts for the name. A natural rock pool, it is washed with clean clear ocean water and is a wonderful swimming and snorkelling spot whilst the viewing platform offers magnificent coastal views and is the perfect spot for shore-based whale watching.

The Blue Pool
The Bermagui Blue Pool is a spectacular ocean pool and a ‘must see’ for visitors to the Sapphire Coast. It’s been a favourite with the locals for many years and on a clear day the reflecting sapphire blue sky accounts for the name. A natural rock pool, it is washed with clean clear ocean water and is a wonderful swimming and snorkelling spot whilst the viewing platform offers magnificent coastal views and is the perfect spot for shore-based whale watching.

Once you reach the summit, enjoy a rest and take in the views to the coast while you enjoy your picnic lunch. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Mallacoota in Victoria, and Narooma to the north.
