You cannot walk here, but it is one of our favorite restaurants in town. They're closed on Wednesdays and will fill up on weekends. It's not fancy. The owners are good people. J4 and F9 are a couple of our favorites but it's all good.

This is owned by one of the best people--she treats her workers right and brings out the best in folks. They have excellent food. You can walk here. They're closed on Mondays; only open for breakfast and lunch.

We believe that Nord's has the best doughnuts in town. The favorites in our house are: glazed twist, custard filled long-john, maple bacon. They are super cheap so we like to tip well. If you go on the weekend you should get there early.

They are just around the corner and have good solid Italian food. The owner's name is Cathy and she is super cool. Her daughters work there. She will sometimes give everyone sitting at the bar shots of Sambuca. It's very easy to walk here. They're closed on Mondays.

This is definitely our very favorite pizza in Louisville at this moment. And it's IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!! We also like their calzones and meatball subs. You can dine in or get carryout. Seating can be limited.

This is a good restaurant if you want a special meal for a special occasion. Their service is excellent and it has an old school feel with little pictures covering the walls and small lamps hung on the wall next to the booths. Dinner is pricey and you would want to make a reservation to be safe. Lunch is more affordable. There's a jazz pianist in the evening. If you don't have a reservation, you can often squeeze in at the bar.

This is a great Mexican restaurant but is not so good for vegetarians. We think they have the best salsa in town; it's warm, and tastes a little smoky. Their tacos are our favorite thing on the menu. We like the pastor, barbacoa, and chorizo.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in town. They have an extensive North and South Indian menu. Our favorite time to visit is on the weekend when they have the buffet. Sometimes service can be spotty. There's a halal market and a Mexican grocery in the same strip mall.

This is a Nepali restaurant and the owner and servers are super personable. We like the samosa chat, pakoras, and the CHICKEN BIRYANI!! But, if they say: "Do you want it Nepali spicy?" I don't know if you should say yes. That's some serious spice. Kris says WHAT?! so he does not agree.

This is fine, fine Mediterranean food. We like the nephew of the owner but we can't remember his name. He's from Jordan and is so chatty. We like their lentil soup, and gyros, and greek salad. Really everything on their menu is good.

Parks & Nature

This is a drive, but it's amazing!!! If we've had rain recently, there will be waterfalls and you can walk in a creek (if it's warm out) and find crawdads to spy on.

We like the trails in the Horine Reservation. This is one of our favorite places to walk in the woods. If you go in the fall, you can find ripe persimmons. If you go in the summer, the red trail has a nice creek that you can walk in.

Louisville has beautiful parks. Cherokee Park is one of its finest. It's a big park with lots to offer, there are trails, playgrounds with fountains for the kids, a paved walking and biking path, tennis courts, green space and etc. My favorite part of Cherokee Park is a sycamore that has fallen across Beargrass Creek and has formed a natural bridge. That is hard to find though.

You can very easily walk here and it has an exciting collection of live insects. If you have kids older than 4, this would be a fun place to go. But it's fun to go here as an adult as well. They have exotic mantids, tarantulas, giant cockroaches, and etc. They also have a gift shop.

Sightseeing

This is one of the first places that I (Aleve) walked around here in Louisville and it made my heart so happy. It's beautiful. Walk down Belgravia Court too. There are tall oaks overhead so that it feels almost like you're in a cathedral. This is one of the best places to visit in Louisville.

This is a true dive bar that has a bartender named Wink. They have nice booths but for us, it's hit or miss because they have dance nights (we think just on Saturdays) and different themed nights. You can very easily walk there and it would be a nice place to check out.

Arts & Culture

The Speed is free on Sundays. This is definitely a place you should visit in Louisville. The collection is good and their film curator is doing a great job. Check out what is playing at the Speed Cinema (sometimes they sell out so you may have to buy tickets in advance). There's a Wiltshire Cafe at the speed that is good!

This is across the street from KMAC and is cool to check out. It's a fancy boutique hotel fused with contemporary art museum that's open 24-hours. They have a restaurant and bar attached called Proof. Proof is nice for a drink but we don't recommend the restaurant so much.
