The Squirrel has shockingly good pastry, OK bread, and pretty good food that is expensive. A decent deal is the plain jane wood fired pizza on weekend nights. But the pastry is really worth the stop. They also have a small but well thought out selection of beer, and have rotating local art on the walls.
This is one of the few businesses to consistently offer vegan, GF options.

The Squirrel has shockingly good pastry, OK bread, and pretty good food that is expensive. A decent deal is the plain jane wood fired pizza on weekend nights. But the pastry is really worth the stop. They also have a small but well thought out selection of beer, and have rotating local art on the walls.

Check out the homemade knives and birch bark baskets for beautiful and functional craftsmanship, made by this husband and wife duo. She made the large baskets in the house, and he made the small skinny hatchet. Try the roasted almonds to see how they got started, or eat at their daughters connected food cart.

Notable features are the pickled hand in a jar, hand written cheeky advice, furs, and random things you might need. Mike's main gig is propane, but he also sells some of the best local eggs.
