Arguably the coolest and most interesting shopping street in London, Broadway Market runs from Regent's Canal to London Fields and is home to an amazing variety of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and of course market stalls.
The market itself has been operating since the late nineteenth century, but these days it is only open on Saturdays from 9am-5pm, but the shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and pubs are open for business throughout the week.
Great place to have a stroll and work up an appetite!

Based on the traditional Irani cafes of Bombay, Dishoom is not only one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK, it is one of the best restaurants in the UK full stop. Don't believe me? It was voted 'Best Restaurant in the UK' by Yelp users in 2015 & 2016.
It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and they're all great. It's also really reasonably priced, particularly for a restaurant of its quality.
N.B. Although they take reservations for breakfast and lunch from groups of any size, for dinner they only accept reservations for groups of 6 or more, meaning the tables are allocated on a first come first serve basis and you may have to wait, but they have a small cocktail bar you can wait at.

Drinks & Nightlife
The Red Lion looks fairly inconspicuous from the outside, but has one of my favourite rooftops in London. It always has a great atmosphere, and it's an awesome place to get a drink when the sun is shining.
Also on Sundays they do 2 pizzas for £10 and the pizzas are not half bad!
p.s. it's only 200 metres from the flat!

Crete Hall RoadThe Red Lion looks fairly inconspicuous from the outside, but has one of my favourite rooftops in London. It always has a great atmosphere, and it's an awesome place to get a drink when the sun is shining.
Also on Sundays they do 2 pizzas for £10 and the pizzas are not half bad!

Great for chilled out weekends - they do an awesome roast dinner - or for nights out.
Not nearly as well known as it should be, The White Lyan is an incredible experimental cocktail bar that exclusively serves its own drinks. For its location and the quality of the drinks they serve, it's also really reasonably priced.
I recommend the Bone Dry Martini (made using real bone!)

This is where I tend to do my everyday shopping. There are a few Newsagents closer to the flat, but they tend to be more expensive.
It's not a huge shop, but you can get most things you need here.

Columbia Road Flower Market is open on Sundays (8am~3pm) and is a must-see for anyone coming to London. Not only is it probably the coolest flower market I've ever seen, it is also a London institution and has an incredible atmosphere.
On top of that, it is located on a street that also has a ton of cool independent shops, ranging from cafes to art galleries to vintage clothes stores.

If you like vintage clothing, Beyond Retro is a must! Tucked away behind Brick Lane, it is one of the best vintage stores in London with a huge array of clothing from all different eras.
